Charles S. Bell Children: References: Notes: Records, Newspapers and Books seem to indicate Charles was a Spy/Scout for General Grant during the Civil War. There was a very interesting story about him in North & South Magazine, June 2001, Volume 4, Number 5. He was medically discharged, and went to South Texas to hunt outlaws.
