WESTFIELD - William W. Raynor Jr., 34, of 7561 E. Main Road, died Monday (Dec. 24, 2001).
He was born Sept. 3, 1967, in Westfield, the son of William W. and Karen M. Kaufman
Raynor Sr. He had been employed by Crown Hill Stone in Westfield as a folk lift
operator. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing football, but most of all, he
enjoyed spending time with his children.
Besides his parents, he is survived by three daughters: Alberta, Tabatha and Jessica
Raynor, all of Jamestown; two sons: William W. III and Michael Raynor, both of Jamestown;
his maternal grandmother, Dolores Kaufman of Westfield; and his paternal grandfather,
Ward F. Raynor of Dewittville.
He was preceded in death by a brother, James W. Raynor; his paternal
grandmother, Henrietta Miller Raynor; and his maternal grandfather, John Kaufman.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Freay Funeral Home,
Mayville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the

WILLARD, Edna "Tootsie", 52, of Largo, died Sunday, April 6, 1997 at home. She came here in 1971 from her native Emporium, Pa., and was supervisor of servers at George Pappas Restaurant, Largo, where she worked 22 years.
She was a Protestant. Survivors include her mother, Edelweiss Y. Mumford, Emporium; two brothers, John Mumford, Jersey Shore, Pa., and Carroll Mumford, Rochester, NY.; three sisters, Mary Maglicio, Emporium, Jean Hodge, Williamsport, Pa., and Della Gross, Wellsville, N.Y.; a companion, Stan Albro, Largo; 11 nieces and nephews, including Teri Baird, Clearwater; and 12 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

DEWITTVILLE - William Ward Raynor Sr., 68, died on Monday (Nov. 18, 2013) in his home, surrounded by his family, after a three year battle with cancer.
He was born April 6, 1945, in Westfield, to Ward and the late Henrietta Raynor. He attended Mayville Central School, Class of 1964, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served in the U.S. Army.
He was a heavy equipment operator in the oil fields. He also enjoyed over the road trucking for many years. He had been employed by Better Baked Foods, DiCillio Trucking and Presque Isle Trucking, before retiring from Roberts Trucking of North East, Pa.
He enjoyed working on his farm, fishing with the grandkids, hunting, and most of all spending time with his family. He was an avid Bills fan. He was a great husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Karen; two sons: Ward (Shannon) of Dewittville, and John (Ashley) of Mayville; two daughters, Kristine Campbell and Lisa Weaver, both of Westfield; also a grandson, William Ward Raynor III, whom he raised. Grandchildren: Alexander and Jared Raynor, Amanda and Sara Campbell, Lillian and Hannah Raynor, Elizabeth Weaver, Michael, Jessica, Tabitha, Alberta, Taylin and Wyatt Raynor.
In addition to his father, he is survived by siblings,; Judy Thies, Linda (Jim) Wray, Dawn Raynor, Diane Schultz, Donna (Dennis) Dixon, Suzanne (Norm) Conway, Robin (Tracy) Raynor, Gene Raynor; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Walter; his mother, Henrietta; a nephew, Ricky Stow, and his sons: William Jr. and James.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the Freay Funeral Home, Mayville.
A community remembrance gathering will be held at the Hartfield Fire Hall on Sunday (Nov. 24) at 2 p.m.

McAllister, Peggy W. (Weatherup)

WESTFIELD - Peggy W. (Weatherup) McAllister, 89, of Lakewood, N.Y., formerly of Oak Street, Westfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at WCA Hospital in Jamestown, NY.
Peggy was born on Feb. 10, 1924, in Westfield, N.Y., the daughter of the late C. John and Clara (Smith) Weatherup.
A Westfield resident all of her life, Peg had been a Girl Scout leader and had worked at the YWCA as the junior program director.
She enjoyed reading and knitting and her social circle of friends. McAllister was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Westfield, and was active in church activities.
Peg is survived by her daughter, Veva (Phillip) Shepherd of Castle Rock, Colo.; and by her two sons: Bruce (Kathy) W. McAllister of Westfield, N.Y., and Thomas (Holly) J. McAllister of Batavia, N.Y.
Peg is also survived by her grandson, Ian Shepherd of Austin, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George F. McAllister Jr., who died on Nov. 2, 1994; and by her sister, Shirley White; her brother, John H. "Jack" Weatherup; and her two stepsisters: Jane Mathews and Corrine Brownell.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral service to be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013, at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 12 Elm St., Westfield, N.Y., with the Rev. Virginia Carr officiating.
Family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Burial will private in Westfield Cemetery.

Leo G. "Gabby" Dorman, 85, of Leon, NY passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Lakeshore Hospital in Irving, NY.
He was born October 10, 1929 in Jamestown, NY the son of the late Leon and Nellie (Hill) Dorman-Bromley.
On October 29, 1954 he married the former Louise Nickerson who survives.
Mr. Dorman was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Army. He worked for TODCO and Champion in Cattaraugus, NY for over 50 years.
He was a lifetime member of the South Dayton American Legion, past member of the Randolph Moose and member of the New Apostolic Church in Cattaraugus, NY. He also was an avid outdoorsman and loved birds, cows and horses.
Besides his loving wife of 60 years, he is survived by three sons, Ronald (Cheryl) Dorman of Gowanda, David Dorman of Leon, NY and Roger Dorman of Jamestown, NY; a daughter, Linda (Paul) Hallett of North Collins, NY; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Rosemary Babbet.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City Street, Little Valley, NY on Monday, March 23 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
Funeral and military services will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 11 a.m., from the funeral home with Rev. John Harvey, officiating.
Burial will be in Treat Memorial Cemetery in Leon, NY.

Waterman, Joan
Joan E. Waterman, 85, of Cassadaga, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 14, 2015.
Born Jan. 25, 1930 in Brocton. Daughter of the late Lloyd and Itha Peck Navey and 1947 graduate of
Brocton Central School.
In earlier years, Joan was a purchasing agent for A.J. Wahl and a part-time secretary at ECC. She was a
full-time wife, mother and homemaker.
A member of the Pleasant Valley United Methodist Church, she had also served as organist for various
churches throughout Chautauqua and Erie counties. Joan enjoyed singing and photography, which led to her being
called "Grandma Cheese."
Devoted wife of 59 years to Kenneth M. Waterman, whom she married May 12, 1956; mother of Douglas (
Diane) Waterman of Antioch, TN, and Tricia (Daniel) VeRost of Wheatfield; grandmother of Jesse (Heather),
Micah (Brittany) and Joseph Waterman, Tiffani (Keith) Stoklosa, Brittani Szczublewski and Tyler VeRost;
great-grandmother of five; sister of Janice Fowler and the late Ramona Swetland. Also survived by nieces and
nephews.
Funeral services 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 18 in Jordan Funeral Home, Sinclairville, with one hour of
visitation prior to the service. Burial in Cassadaga Cemetery.

William Peter Carlson

William "Little Elvis" Carlson
William P. Carlson was born in Buffalo, NY on August 6, 1945. He was the size of a peanut when he popped out, cigar hanging from his lip, hair slicked back like Elvis and a gurgle in his voice. His eyes wide open while he looked on at his new parents and said, "Thank you, thank you very much". This was Lil' Bill Carlson on his way to a new life.
Bill as we all knew him, spent the first half of his life in Jamestown, NY.
It was there where he found his first steady job as a furniture maker. Jamestown was once known as the "Furniture Capital of the World" and Bill was part of it.
After making furniture, Bill went on to work for Ingersoll Rand making compressors until the early 1980's when he moved to Ithaca.
When Bill arrived in Ithaca, he found work with the Zaharis family at their West End businesses.
When he wasn't working, he was usually seen riding one of his many bicycles throughout the West-End of town. Smiling and waving to everyone he passed by. You couldn't miss him with his cowboy hat perched on his head, wearing cuffed-up blue jeans and a black leather jacket. He was a fixture in the West-End that always made you smile when you saw him ride by with a cigar stub hanging from his lip, especially if he was singing Blue Suede Shoes, Hound Dog, Don't Be Cruel or All Shook Up. He had memorized every word and of course sounded a little like Elvis when he sang. Thus, the nickname "Lil Elvis" as we so fondly called him. Elvis, Godzilla, Mothra, Super Man,
The Ten Commandments movie, his blue wing-backed recliner, his good friends, and especially his adored calico cat Clarice: Bill loved them all with a passion!
Three years ago, Bill moved from downtown to the Ellis Hollow Apartments. Although he loved his neighbors and the staff at Ellis Hollow, he sure did miss being downtown. Bill was extremely independent, unfailingly friendly, polite and a real cantankerous crank at times. But he knew this.
If he was wrong, he'd think about it a while and invariably apologize if it was necessary. For all who knew and loved Little Elvis, how about one last, in your very best Elvis-impersonating voice,
"Thank you. Thank you very much". We're gonna miss you buddy.
Bill was predeceased by his parents, Swan E. and Irene Carlson. He is survived by his beloved cat Clarice. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ithaca SPCA.

Bruce McAllister
Bruce McAllister, 69 years old of Brocton, New York and formerly of Westfield, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at ECMC in Buffalo, NY, Wednesday afternoon, August 16, 2023.
Bruce was born in Westfield, NY on June 9, 1954 to the late George and Peggy (Weatherup) McAllister.
He graduated from Westfield High School in 1973. After graduation he started his career with Renold Inc and worked there for 43 years retiring in 2016.
Bruce was very active in the Westfield Moose Lodge 118 where he served as an officer for many years. He was also on their ritual staff that competed against other lodges in state competitions. Bruce was also a member of the Westfield sons of the American Legion Post 327 where he was also an officer for many years.
He enjoyed being the town Santa Claus from the time he was 13 years until he retired.
Bruce enjoyed collecting Coleman Lanterns and spending time with friends and family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years Kathy Albro, his siblings Thomas (Holly) McAllister and Veva (Phillip) Sheperd; his nephews Michael Simon, Richard Simon, David and Brian Close, Charles Coleson Jr, Thomas Colson, Todd Colson and his godson Ian Sheperd. Also many great nieces and nephews.
As per the families wishes, there will be no calling hours or services at this time. Burial will be private in Westfield Cemetery.
