Ahlgren, Bruce R.
Bruce R. Ahlgren, 68, died at his residence in 
Bucyrus, Ohio on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2011 following
a brief illness.
  He was born Sept. 22, 1942, in Jamestown, N. Y.,
to the late Victor and Norma (Drotz) Ahlgren. He
graduated from Southwestern Central School in 1960,
then served in the U. S. Army and was stationed in
Korea.
  Bruce worked as an upholsterer, retiring from 
Irish Acres Antiques in Versailles, Ky,. in 2009.
  He was an avid skydiver with more than 100 jumps. He was also a collector of beer
stiens, carousel horses and plates.
  He was a member of the American Legion, recently transferring to Col. Crawford Post
181 in Bucyrus, Ohio.
  He is survived by six children: sons, Georffrey (Pam) of Richmond, Ky. and Shawn 
(Tracy) of Richmond, Ky., and daughters, Desiree and Joanna of Kentucky and Tanya and 
Ashley of Ohio.
  He was also survived by five grandchildren; a sister, Julie Bellardo of Lakewood, 
N.Y.; two brothers: Terry of Lakewood, N. Y., and Dennis (Wanda) of Kennedy, N. Y.;
as well as by several nieces and nephews in the area.

Albro, Harold R.
  Harold R. Albro, 78, of 660 Fairmount Ave 
WE, died Friday (June 27, 2008) in his home.
 A lifelong area resident, he was born December 
 22, 1929 in Gerry, NY, the son of Howard F. 
and Delia Rowe Albro Sr.
  Harold attended Jamestown Schools, and was 
a United States Air Force veteran, serving as 
a Medical Technician during the time of the Korean War. 
For nearly 50 years, he was employed at hopes Windows. 
Following his retirement from Hopes, he worked as a Security 
Guard at Bush Industries. 
For 40 years, Harold and his wife enjoyed attending Flea Markets.
Surviving are his children, Sandy and Bill Lindberg, Wendy and Charles
 Coleson, of Jamestown; Cynthia and Frank Marcello of Palm Harbor, FL;
 Kathy and Bruce McAllister of  Westfield; 
Linda and Christopher DeJoseph of Celoron; seven grandchildren,
 Michael and Richard Simon; Brian and David Close; Charles 
Jr, Thomas and Todd Coleson; 13 great grandchildren; and two 
brothers, Robert Albro and Norman Waterman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Spring Albro whom
 he married September 4, 1950 and who died April 23, 2006; 
three brothers, Donald, Oscar, and Howard Albro Jr.; and 
four sisters, Jean Anderson, Betty Steppe, Helen Sharp, and Lena
 Albro.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Lind
 Funeral Home. The Rev. Eldon H. Johnson will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. 
Monday and for one hour prior to the service Tuesday in the 
funeral home.

Albro, Howard F. Jr.
  Howard F. Albro Jr., 81, of Heritage Park Health Care Center, formerly of 23 
W. 12th St., died at 4:35 A.M. Wednesday (Feb. 2, 2000) in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, he was born Dec. 28, 1918 in Jamestown, a son of Howard F.
and Delia Rowe Albro Sr.
 Before retirement he was employed at Chase Interiors for 30 years, and was a 
carpenter by trade.
  Surviving are three sons: Danny Albro, with whom he made his home, Jim Albro 
of Pensacola, Fla.,(Middleburg) and Stanley Albro of Tallahassee, Fl. (Tampa); five daughters
: Diane, Dorine, and Marsha (Marcia) Albro, all of Florida, and Patricia Bump and
Ruthie Albro, both of Ithaca, (NY); many grandchildren and several 
Great-grandchildren; and four brothers: Robert, Donald and Harold Albro, 
all of Jamestown, and Norman Waterman of Newark, N.Y.
  He was preceeded death by his father, who died Aug. 29, 1974, his mother, who
died Oct. 22, 1970; a brother, Oscar Albro, and four sisters: Jean Anderson, 
Betty Steppe, Helen Sharp and Lena Albro.
 The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev 
Gerald A. Haglund, chaplain of Heritage Park Health Care Center, will officiate.
 Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
 The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service
friday in the funeral home.

Albro, Joan M.
  Joan M. Albro, 61, of 1141 Prendergast Ave., died at 3:30 a.m. Wednesday (Jan. 27, 1993)
in WCA Hospital.
 She was the wife of Donald M. Albro, with whom she observed their 37th wedding anniversary
April 29, 1992.
  A native of Jamestown, she was born Oct. 20, 1931, a daughter of Gunnard S. and Mae 
Gillburg Johnson.
  Mrs. Albro was a graduate of Jamestown High School class of 1950. For 27 years, she was
the switchboard operator at Jamestown General Hospital. She was a member of Epworth 
Christ United Methodist Church.
  Surviving, besides her husband, are two sons, Timothy D. Albro of Dayton, Ohio and 
Jonathan Albro of Hartford, Conn.; a daughter, Judy L. VanWie of Syracuse: four 
grandchildren, Nathan and Stefanie VanWie of Syracuse, Madeline and Kristen Albro,
both of Dayton; her mother, Mae G. Johnson of Jamestown; a sister, Carol Jordan of 
Erie, Pa.; and two brothers, Milton G. Johnson and Robert G. Johnson, both of Jamestown.
  She was preceeded in death by her father, who died Dec. 20, 1991.
  The Funeral will be at 11 a.m. saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Jay G. 
Roberts, pastor of Epworth Christ United Methhodist Church, and Rev. James Armstrong
of Warren, Ohio, will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
 Friends will be received from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
  The family suggests memorials may be made to the Salvation Army. 

Albro, Joyce M.

  Joyce M. Albro, 78, of 31 Hall Ave., died at 9:45 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at 
Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing.
  A lifelong area resident, she was born Jan. 7, 1930 in Jamestown, the daughter of 
the late Fred and Nellie Wallace Knowlton.
  In earlier years, she had been employed by the former Woolworth's store in 
Jamestown and retired from the former Marine Midland Bank in Falconer.
  A loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Joyce especially loved 
her cats ''SH'' and Toby.
   Surviving is her husband, Robert N. Albro, whom she married Aug. 8, 1959; two 
sons: Norman F. (Christine) Lewis of Frewsburg and Robert D. Lewis of Jamestown; 
five grandchildren: Jason (Sue) Lanphere of Ben Wheeler, Texas, Stacey (Jamie Eaton) 
Lewis of Falconer, Cassandra (Scott) Rogers of Westfield, James (Brandi) Lanphere of 
Brocton and Tammie (Chad) Eddy of Jamestown; and 10 great-grandchildren: Aaron, Kiersten, 
Joyslyn, Destinee, Camden, Natalie, C.J., Jackson, Olyvia and Samara.
  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers: Glen and Herman Knowlton.
  The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. 
Bruce J. Easterling, will officiate. Burial will be in the Bentley 
Cemetery, Lakewood.
  Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home Saturday.
 
 Albro, Robert N. 
Robert N(athan). Albro, 83, of 31 Hall Ave., died at 1:39 a.m. Thursday (February 11, 2010) 
in WCA Hospital.
He was born October 1, 1926 in Jamestown, one of ten children of the late Howard 
and Delia Rowe Albro.
  A veteran of the Korean War, he served from April 1952 until January 1954 and received 
three Bronze Stars.
  Bob was a 54 year employee of the Van Stee Corporation, retiring as supervisor of 
shipping and receiving.
He enjoyed woodworking of all kinds and had made many items for family, especially 
his grandchildren.
 Bob also enjoyed camping and sitting around a campfire with friends.
  Surviving are two sons, Norman F. (Christine) Lewis of Frewsburg and Robert D. 
Lewis of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Jason (Sue) Lanphere of Ben Wheeler, TX, 
Stacey (Jamie Eaton) Lewis of Falconer, Cassandra (Scott) Rogers of Westfield, James 
(Brandi) Lanphere of Brocton and Tammie (Chad) Eddy of Jamestown; twelve 
great-grandchildren: Aaron, Kiersten, Joslyn, Destineé, Camden, Natalie, C.J., 
Jackson, Olyvia, Samara, London and Logan; and his expected great-grandson, Elijah.
  He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Knowlton Albro whom he married August 
8, 1959 and who died December 23, 2008; four sisters: Jennie Anderson, Betty Hallett, 
Lena Albro and Helen Sharpe; and five brothers: Howard Albro Jr., Harold, Donald and 
Oscar Albro and Norman Waterman.
  The funeral will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. 
Bruce J. Easterling will officiate. Burial will be in the Bentley Cemetery, Lakewood.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service, from 6 to 7 p.m. in 
the funeral home Monday.

Albro, Sybil E.
  Sybil E. Albro, 77, of 660 Fairmount Ave., died at 3:18 p.m. Sunday (April 23, 2006) 
in WCA Hospital.
  She was born February 1, 1929, in Yonkers, NY, a daughter of James Spring and Sybil 
Chase Spring Fox.
  Surviving are her husband Harold Albro, whom she married September 4, 1950, children 
Sandy and Bill Lindberg of Jamestown, Cynthia and Frank Marcello of Palm harbor, FL, 
Wendy and Charles Coleson of Frewburg, Kathy and Bruce  McAllister of Westfield and 
Linda and Christopher DeJoseph of Celoron, 7 grandchildren Michael and Richard Simon, 
Brian and David Close, Charles Coleson, Jr., and Thomas and Todd Coleson, 13 great 
grandchildren, 3 sisters Winnie Mathis, Dorothy LaMancuso and Edna Nelson, all of 
Jamestown and a brother Thomas Spring of State College, PA.
  Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her step father Leslie Fox, her 
first husband Marvin (Paul) Bement, and 3 brothers William, James and Peter Spring.
  The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Eldon H. 
Johnson, pastor emeritus of Zion Covenant Church, will officiate.
  Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
  Friends will be received from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and for one hour prior to the service 
Thursday in the funeral home.
