Daelhousen, Glenn
Glenn L. Daelhousen, 89, of Warren, Pa., died Tuesday
morning, Nov. 22, 2011, at UPMC Hamot, Erie, Pa., after
a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 17, 1922, in Warren, Pa., to the late
Clyde L. and Alma Phillips Daelhousen.
He has resided in Warren and the Tidioute area most
his entire life.
Glenn was a graduate of Tidioute High School class of
1940. He had served with the U.S. Navy during World War
II, and was employed prior to his service time with the Civil Conservation Corps. He
retired as a switchman with the former Bell Telephone after 50 years service. He was
a former member of the Warren Veterans of Foreign Wars and Lakewood Rod & Gun
Club. He was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his son, Jack Daelhousen and wife, Rachel of Ashville, N.Y.;
daughter-in-law, Brenda Daelhousen of Sinking Springs, Pa.; sister, Katie Johnson
of Warren, Pa.; four grandchildren: Olen Daelhousen of Atlanta, Ga., Chad Daelhousen
and wife, Julie of Jamestown, N.Y., Kim Daelhousen of Sinking Springs, Pa., and Eric
Daelhousen and wife, Wendee of Philadelphia, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews
also survive.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Brocklehurst
Daelhousen, who died Oct.1, 1981; his second wife, Geraldine Wilson Hillard Daelhousen,
who died March 10, 2011; a son, Scott Daelhousen, who died Feb. 9, 2002; a sister, Lucille
Caldin; and a brother, Richard Daelhousen.
A private funeral service will be conducted at the convenience of the family. Interment
will be in Tidioute Cemetery, Tidioute, Pa.

Dahlberg, Ethel B.
Born in Jamestown July 19, 1917, the daughter of Henry and Florence Erlandson Beckman,
and the widow of E. Harvey Dahlberg, who died Oct,6, 1986. They were married in
Jamestown, on Nov. 23, 1939.
She was a graduate of Jamestown High School, class of 1936. Before retirement in
1981, she was employed for 26 years by the Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation
District. She was a member of AARP, Diana Lodge, Thule Lodge, Lakewood Rod & Gun Club
Auxiliary, Ira Lou Spring Post 149 Auxiliary, the Retired Public Employees Association
and associate director Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District. She
enjoyed dancing and playing cribbage.
She is survived by two sons: Jeffrey L. Dahlberg (Julianne Kinsman), Easthampton,
Mass., and John S. Dahlberg (Susan), Wheatfield, N.Y.; four grandchildren: Winslow
Dahlberg-Wright, Signe Dahlberg-Wright, Steven J. Dahlberg and Jeffrey M. Dahlberg;
a sister, Geneva Shreve, Falconer, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by brothers: Harold Beckman
and Ernest Beckman; sisters Agnes Anderson and Esther Nestle; and friend, Paul
Thompson.
The funeral service will be held at noon Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in the Lind Funeral
Home. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday
in the funeral home. Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Dallas, Violet R.
Violet R. Dallas, 93, formerly of Falconer, passed away Saturday (June 2, 2012) in
Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Center.
She was born April 30, 1919, in Ackley, Pa., the daughter of the late David and
Bertha Cox Johnson.
She was a member of the Falconer United Methodist Church and enjoyed flowers,
gardening, cooking and bird watching.
Surviving are her daughter Marcia (Ron) Carlson of Bemus Point, son Gail (Nancy) Dallas
of Falconer; her niece Suzanne (Roger) Overend of Falconer ; 11 grandchildren; several
great grandchildren; a brother Edward Johnson of Gerry; two sisters: Leona Morrison of
Falconer and Lucille Reynolds of Conewango Valley; and her a daughter-in-law Nancy
Dallas of Frewsburg.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll L. Dallas, whom
she married September 21, 1939, who died June 6, 1981, a son Murray A. Dallas,
who died June 6, 2010, and 17 siblings.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev.
Timothy Phelps will officiate. Burial will be in Allen Cemetery, town of Poland.
Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior
to the funeral service Wednesday in the funeral home.

Damico, Fae I.
Fae I. Damico, 80, of 5527 East Main Road, Brocton, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, April
24, 2012, at ECMC in Buffalo, N.Y.
Fae was born in Silver Creek, N.Y., on April 14, 1932, the daughter of the late
Bertha (Colt) and Miles Barnes. She was a resident of Brocton for the past 57 years,
coming here from Silver Creek, N.Y.
She was a retired employee of American Massage of Silver Creek, N.Y. and had also
been a sewer in theraputic manufacturing at the former Niagara Therapy plant in
Brocton, N.Y.
She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church of Brocton, N.Y. Fae was a very dedicated
life member of Lake Chautauqua Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8647 Ladies
Auxiliary in Mayville, N.Y., where she served as president for six terms. She was
also president of the Chautauqua County Council and District 6 Ladies Auxiliaries.
Fae was honored to be President of the Year by the Department of New York State
Auxiliary. She was involved and in support of the Veterans of Foreign War National
Home for Children, where she was a life member. She was also a member of the
Brocton American Legion Post 434 Ladies Auxiliary.
Fae was also an active volunteer for The American Red Cross and belonged to the
Brocton-Portland Senior Citizens Club.
She is survived by her loving husband, Hobart L Damico Sr. of Brocton, N.Y., whom
she married Sept. 28, 1957; two sons: Hobart L. (Cindy ) Damico of Brocton, N.Y., and
Bruce (Melinda) Damico of Brocton, N.Y.; six grandchildren: Kimberly Damico, Jennifer
Damico, Penny Damico, Thomas (Liz) Haynes, Katherine (Chris) Dulmus and Hannah Damico;
two great-grandchildren: Sydne Daniels and Alex Daniels. She is also survived by one
brother and one sister.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held Saturday morning April 28, 2012 at 10 a.m. from the
Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. Brocton N.Y. Pastor Hobart L. Damico Jr. will
officiate. Interment will follow at the Portland Evergreen Cemetery. Friends are
invited to call at The Morse Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Daniels, Elmer F.
ST. JOHN, Ind. - Elmer F. Daniels, 77, of St. John, Ind., died Jan. 13, 2012, at
the Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, Ind.
He was born July 6, 1934, in Busti, the son of Edward and Myrtle Schrader Daniels.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 52 and a half years, Donna K. Coletti Daniels;
two sons: Robert (Lori) Daniels and Michael Daniels; 10 grandchildren; four great-
grandchildren; two sisters: Mary Peterson and Irma Capizzi; a brother, Maurice Daniels;
and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sons; Joseph and Gordon Daniels; and
three brothers.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Busti Cemetery, Busti. The
Rev. Robert Reeves, pastor of Zion Tabernacle will officiate. No visitation will be
observed. The Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg, is in charge of arrangements.
Danielson, Clayton A. “Scotty”
Clayton A. "Scotty" Danielson, 93, formerly of 810 Spring St., died Sunday Jan. 1,
2012, in the Heritage Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
He was born Sept. 29, 1918, in Jamestown the son of Arthur J. and Esther Marie Anderson
Danielson.
Scotty was a 1935 graduate of Bemus Point High School. Prior to living in Jamestown,
he owned a farm in Clymer in the late 1940s and early 1950s; and resided in Ellery,
Kiantone and the city of Alburquerque, N.M.
Scotty was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a staff sergeant during
the campaigns of Areennes, Central Europe, Normandy, Northern France and the Rhineland. He
was awarded the Bronze Star, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, and
the Good Conduct Medal.
For many years, Scotty was a well-known auto mechanic in the area, working for
various garages. He retired from the former CMK Auto Parts.
He was a member of Ira Lou Spring Post 149 American Legion; and a former member
of the DAV and Calvary Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are a son, Dale Danielson (Judy) of Springfield, Mo.; two daughters,
Jannene Seekings (Delbert Jr.) and Mary Ford (David), both of Jamestown; seven
grandchildren: David Danielson (Casey) of Branson, Mo.; Michael Danielson of
Springfield, Mo.; Brandon Ford (Elizabeth) of Grantville, Ga.; Ryan Seekings of
Jamestown; Tiffany Decker (Kirk) of Busti, N.Y.; Nichole Kopenski (Rob) of Powder
Springs, Ga.; Renae Bordenkircher (Erik) of Silver Creek, N.Y; eight great-grandchildren:
Beka, Samuel and James Kopenski; Curtis and Hannah Ford; Samantha and Joseph
Bordenkircher; Alyssa Danielson; two stepgrandchildren: Jason Decker (Tammy) and
Shannon Decker; and three great-great stepgrandchildren: Brandon Decker; Alexis
and Nick Crossley.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Hoyle Danielson,
whom he married April 29, 1943, and who died December 20, 1999; a sister, Ruby G.
Johnson; and three brothers: Siebert L., Richard A., and Duane Danielson.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home.
Pastor Lee O'Brien of the Busti Federated Church will officiate. Burial will be
in Sunset Hill Cemetery,

Danielson, Elaine R.
Elaine R. Danielson, 75, of 3 E. Seventh St. W.E., died Saturday, Oct. 29, 2011,
in her home.
She was born June 18, 1936, in McKeesport, Pa., the daughter of the late Ralph
and Dorsel Witheril Remington.
Elaine was employed by Chautauqua Opportunities Inc. as a home care aide. Earlier
she worked at Betty Dixon Candies and as a seamstress at Jamestown Sewing Co.
and Van Raalte Co. in Dunkirk.
Elaine was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and loved reading and doing
jigsaw puzzles.
Surviving are four daughters: Lou Ann (Pat) Griffin of Randolph; Jackie (Gary)
Lawson of Ashville; Donna (Bob) Fredrick of Jamestown; Barbara Rhoades of Cassadaga;
ten grandchildren: Ed and Allan Pierce, both of Orange, Texas; Luke Griffin of
Randolph; Vanessa Griffin of Sarasota, Fla.; Katie Odom and Amanda Bradley,
both of Jamestown; Tim Danielson and Courtney Lawson, both of Ashville; Jim
Rhoades of Stockton; Brad Rhoades of Cassadaga; 17 great-grandchildren and
a sister, Ellen Murphy of Dunkirk.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald W.
"Donny" Danielson, whom she married Sept. 24, 1962, and who died May 1, 1997;
a grandson, Scott E. Rhoades; and a brother, Robert Remington.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Church of The
Nazarene, 405 Howard Ave. W.E. The Rev. John Gocke, pastor, will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Danielson, Verland H.
Verland H. Danielson, 89, of Emeritus of Lakewood, formerly of Naples, Fla., died
Saturday, June 16, 2012, in Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
He was born Feb. 14, 1923, in Frewsburg, a son of the late David and Esther
Swanson Danielson.
He was a graduate of Jamestown Business College and Penn State University.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
His working career began with Standard Oil until 1950 when he, along with his wife,
founded Danielson Oil.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, Lakewood Memorial Post 1286, Lakewood
Rod and Gun Club, Jamestown Rotary, Thule Lodge, Vikings and the Norden Club.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, the former Doris Lofgren, whom he married July 6,
1946; four children: Dorine (Robert) Kelly of Lexington, Ky., Thomas (Shirley)
Danielson, Mark (Christine) Danielson and Charles Danielson all of Jamestown; three
grandchildren: Andrew Danielson, Michelle (Jason) Faulk and Anne (Alex) Wells; five
great-grandchildren: Ayden and Alyson Danielson and Morgan, Trey and Jaxson Faulk;
a sister-in-law Ruth Johnson Danielson; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a granddaughter Meagan Danielson;
daughter-in-law Alexis Danielson; a brother Gordon Danielson; and two sisters, Pauline Frederos and Jeanette Danielson.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Rev. Adam

Danson, Mary R.
Mary R. Danson, 52, of Jamestown, died Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011, in WCA Hospital.
She was born March 28, 1959, in Niagara Falls, N.Y., a daughter of Edward and Jean
Caccamise Kosmalski.
She was a graduate of Jamestown Community College and Jamestown Business College
and had also attended Edinboro University.
She had been employed by Chautauqua County working in the finance department in Mayville.
She was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church.
She thoroughly enjoyed horses.
Surviving besides her mother of Jamestown, are two children: Karen and Joseph
Danson of James-town; grandmother, Ardith Caccamise of Jamestown; uncle, David
Caccamise of Jamestown; aunt, Nina Papperman of Interlaken, N.Y.; and three cousins:
Sara, Emily and Daniel Papperman.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by grandparents Dr. George Caccamise
and Gertrude Moynihan Caccamise; and two uncles: George Caccamise Jr. and Jere Caccamise.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Apostles
Parish, Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home, where
a Christian Wake Service will be led at 1:45 p.m.

Darling, Donna
Donna Darling of Niobe, N.Y., died Monday June 17, at the home of her brother, after
a lengthy illness.
Donna was born in Mayville, N.Y., on July 5, 1936. She was the daughter of Carl and
Marjorie Arnold Darling.
She graduated from Panama Central School in 1954, and worked as a computer programmer
at Marlin Rockwell and Blackstone Mfg., for many years.
Donna was a very accomplished musician and portrait artist for many years. She played
for the Jamestown Municipal Band, Lucille Ball Little Theater, Jamestown Community
College Band Library Theater, Warren Chamber Music, and many other groups. Donna
specialized in animal portraits, and was a very devoted person to her many dogs
over the years. She was a very adventurous person who loved the outdoors. Donna
attended Panama United Methodist Church for some time.
She is survived by her brother, James and wife, Darlene Darling of Panama; a nephew,
David and Lucinda Darling of Youngsville, Pa.; a great-nephew, Michael and niece,
Amber Darling, also of Youngsville; a great-great-niece, Jo Anna; and a nephew,
Daniel and Heidi Darling of Jamestown, N.Y.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Norma Darling.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Panama United Methodist
Church in Panama, N.Y., with Pastor Steve Taylor officiating.

Darling, Roy Guy
Roy Guy Darling, 93, of 682 Pleasant Drive, and formerly of Jackson Run Road, Warren,
Pa., died on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at Warren Manor.
Roy was born April 9, 1918, in Youngsville, Pa., the son of the late Charles and
Emma George Darling. In his younger years, Roy worked as a foreman at Marlin Rockwell
Corp., from which he retired. He was a member of the Eagles Club, and enjoyed eating
their fish fry on Friday nights. Roy also enjoyed hunting deer and small game. He
also liked spending time fishing and gardening.
He is survived by his son, Leroy Darling and his wife Joanne of Sugar Grove, Pa.;
two step-daughters, Stacey Hughes and her husband Charles, and Susan Wolfe; two
grandsons, Craig Darling and his wife Amber of Sugar Grove, Pa. and Scott Darling
and his wife Leanne of Newburgh, Ind.; six step-grandchildren: Kimberly Sanchez and
her husband Victor, Alyssia Peterson and her husband Rob, Jeff Hughes and his wife
Ruth, Keith Johnson, Kristin Gibb and Scott Johnson; five great-grandchildren:
Nicholas, Jared, Samantha, Lilly and Curt; and step-great-grandchildren Jack and
Kate Sanchez; and two brothers, Clyde and Ted Darling.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lois Roselle;
second wife, Margaret Speer; daughter, Joy Darling; stepson, Barry Johnson; great-
Grandchild, Scott Darling, Jr.; three sisters, Bernice Winchester, Laura Dyer, and
Carrie Chase; and brother, Bill Darling.
Services will be held privately for the family.
Burial will be in the Warren County Memorial Park

Darr, Sumner Hoyt Jr.
Sumner Hoyt Darr Jr., of 900 Lincoln Ave., Warren, passed away on Thursday, June 7,
2012, at his residence.
Mr. Darr was born January 4, 1950, in Warren, the son of the late Sumner H. Darr Jr,
and Ruth Morse. Sumner was a 1968 graduate of Warren High School and served his country
before being medically discharged. Sumner loved spending time with his sons and
grandchildren and will also be remembered for his love of music, bingo and sports,
especially the Pirates, which he was a lifelong fan.
He is survived by his two sons, Sumner Darr, III and his wife Kristen and Aaron Darr,
both of Jamestown, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Finley and Jake Darr; three sisters: Brenda
Darr, Laurie Darr, both of Warren, Pa. and Tammy Johnson of North Carolina; brother David
Darr and his wife Peggy of Florida; stepfather, Paul Hultberg of Sugar Grove, Pa., and
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

De Angelo, Florence “Flossie”
Florence "Flossie" De Angelo, 89, of 303 W. Fifth St., Jamestown,
died at 6:30 p.m. Monday (Oct. 24, 2011), in the Heritage Green Rehab
and Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born Jan. 16, 1922, in Lansing, Ohio, the daughter of
the late Frank and Catherine Spadero De Angelo.
Flossie had worked as a waitress at Hamilton's Restaurant and
on the tool line at Proto Tool. She was a communicant of St.
John Catholic Church and volunteered as a Gray Lady at WCA Hospital
for many years. Flossie loved her family, especially her great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her daughter, Bess (Dick) Christensen; grandson, Jeff (Debi)
Christensen; great grandson, Tyler Christensen; and great-granddaughter,
Hannah Christensen, all of Tucson, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel
J. De Angelo, whom she married April 18, 1942, and who died April 6, 1989;
her son, David L. De Angelo who died July 4, 2011; four brothers, John, Thomas,
Manuel, and Joseph De Angelo; and a sister, Rose Otto.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation
will not be observed.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

De Angelo, Frank “Babe”
Frank "Babe" DeAngelo, 65, of Jamestown, died Fri-day, Dec. 9, 2011,
in the Erie County Medical Center.
A native of Jamestown, he was born Aug. 28, 1946, a son of Michael
and Lydia Restivo DeAngelo.
He graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964. He attended University of
Kentucky, and later served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed by National Telephone Supply Company,
Cleveland, Ohio, as an assistant sales manager.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church.
A childhood member of Boys and Girls Club of Jamestown, he joined its
Alumni Association in his adult life.
He was a devoted care-giver to his parents for many years, and enjoyed time
spent exercising with friends at Jamestown Community College. He loved to
travel, especially to the national parks
Surviving are his mother of Jamestown; a brother, Marion "Mike" (Sandy)
DeAngelo of Hernando, Fla.; three nephews: Michael (Jennifer) DeAngelo of
Rumford, R.I., Mark (Renae) DeAngelo of Scotia, N.Y. and Jonathan (Denise)
DeAngelo of Jamestown; and great-nieces and nephews: Laurynn, Lydia, Bella,
Olivia, JonMichael, Siena and Luke.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dec. 10, 2010; and a sister-in-law,

CASSADAGA - Justin C. Deering, 15, of Cassadaga, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at home.
Born Nov. 11, 1995, in Dunkirk, the son of Jeffrey and Karen Spinler Deering of
Cassadaga.
He was a student at Cassadaga Valley Central School, class of 2013 and the BOCES
Conservation program. Justin was a member of the CVCS varsity soccer and track
teams, FFA, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and bicycle riding.
Brother of Kimberly and Kaylee Deering, both of Cassadaga; grandson of George and
Judith Shoemaker Deering of Sinclairville and Harold and Adelaide Christy Spinler
of Cassadaga. Also survived by uncles, aunts and cousins.

M. (Thomas) Brinkworth and the late Raymond A. DeMaio. Loving grandmother of 19

Denmead, Freeland J. "Mike"
Freeland J. "Mike" Denmead of Central Avenue, Brocton, N.Y., died Monday,
May 28, 2012, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was 80 years of age, born in Leon, N.Y., on April 14, 1932, the son of the late
Lester and Lucille (Peters) Frost. A Chautauqua County resident for most of his life,
Mr. Denmead had resided in Brocton for the past 15 eyars. He was a Navy veteran of
the Korean Conflict, serving from 1952-1956. Mr. Denmead was a retired employee of
the Ford Motor Company Woodlawn Stamping Plant.
His hobbies were playing POGO on the computer, watching WWE wrestling, NASCAR, going
to casinos, lawn care and spoiling his grandchildren. He loved his church, country
music and spending time with his family. Mr. Denmead was a member of the Fellowship
Church of Brocton, the John W. Dill Memorial Post 434 and the Beaver Club of Fredonia,
N.Y.
Surviving are his children, Melinda (Tom) Ewing of Manassas, Va., Donna (Bobby)
Williams of Winchester, Va., Michael (Deborah) Denmead of Mt. Carmel, Tenn., Kenneth
(Tawnie) Denmead of Fredonia and Bethany (Mark) Grover of Brocton; his brothers Lester
(Florence) Frost Jr. of Cassadaga, James Frost, David Frost and Richard (Donna) Frost,
all of Brocton, his sisters Della (Lester) Ludemann and Delia (Dan) Wojciezyn, both
of Cassadaga; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Vivianne (Berkey) Denmead,
who he married May 21, 1965, and who died June 5, 2006; his son, Laurence Ewing;
his daughter, Denise Denmead; and his brother, William Denmead.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 30, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Morse Funeral
Home, 51 Highland Ave., Brocton, N.Y. A memorial service will be held Thursday, May
31, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the Fellowship Church, Brocton, N.Y., where full military
honors will be provided by the John W. Dill Post 434 of Brocton, N.Y.
Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.

Deppas, James G.
James G. Deppas, 50, of 145 Chandler St. passed away unexpectedly at 8:01 p.m.
Thursday (Dec. 22, 2011) in the emergency room of WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident he was born March 11, 1961, in Jamestown, a son of the
late Anthony L. "Dony" and Dominica "Dolly" Mazzone Deppas.
Jim was a 1979 graduate of Jamestown High School and earned his bachelor's degree
in accounting from St. Bonaventure University in 1983.
He began his professional career as an accountant for the firm of Bergmark,
Butera and Bird in Newark, N.Y. In 1988 he became the Controller and Chief
Financial Officer for WCA Hospital until 2000. He had later worked for the
Millcreek Hospital and Metro Hospi-tal both in Erie, Pa.
He was a member of the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church and was active
with the Chautauqua Region Multiple Sclerosis Society, where he served as
Treasurer from 1995-98. He was also a board member and Treasurer of the American
Red Cross from 1997-2001 and a member of the Mt. Moriah Lodge 145 Free and
Accepted Masons for over 10 years.
Prior to his illness, he was an avid golfer, runner and softball player. He also
coached his children in the Jamestown Area Youth Soccer League.
He was a loving and caring father and brother who loved to "Go East" for a
good game of poker with his family and friends. He also had a love for
music that he always shared with his kids as they were growing up. Most of
all, he loved spending time with his family by whom he will be deeply
missed.
Jim will always be remembered as a man with wit and a great sense of
humor. He took everything in stride and even through hardships, he always
found a reason to laugh about it, or crack a joke. His family will always
remember his strength and courage during his illness.
Surviving are his three children Rachel M. (Tim Anderson) Deppas, Ryan A.
Deppas, Gregory J. Deppas, two brothers Louis A. (Melissa) Deppas, John D.
(Megan) Deppas all of Jamestown and seven nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father who died Feb. 17, 2005 and his mother
who died April 3, 2011.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox
Church. The Rev. George S. Zervos, pastor will officiate. Burial will be in the
Lake View Cemetery.
Friends will be received from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home
where a Trisagion Prayer Service will be led by Rev. Zervos at 7 p.m. Monday.

DeRaat, Jacob P. “Jake”
Jacob P. "Jake" DeRaat, 85, of Sherman, N.Y., died Friday, April 27, 2012, in
WCA Hospital.
He was born Jan. 7, 1927, in Oss Voana, the Netherlands, the son of the late Abram and
Lena Toledo DeRaat.
Jake was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Dutch Army's police action in
Indonesia.
He came to the United States in the 1950s, and has been a self-employed dairy farmer
for many years.
Jake was a member of the Jehovah's Witness West Congregation.
In addition to his wife, the former Ellen Kramarich, whom he married Nov. 3, 1968,
surviving are three children: Charles (Linda) Carlson of Panama, N.Y., Jessie (George)
Boyer of Jamestown, and Betty Carl-son of Warren, Pa.; 10 grandchildren; one
great-grandson; two sisters in the Netherlands; and many nieces and nephews in both
the United States and the Netherlands.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Kingdom Hall West on Baker
Street. Friends will be received following the service Saturday at Kingdom Hall.
The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of one's choice.

Derby, Charles Raleigh
Charles Raleigh Derby, died Oct. 2, 2011 in Littleton, N.H. He was born Sept.
26, 1923 in Little Valley, NY, the son of Charles and Alice Venman Derby.
Before moving to New England, he owned Derby's Heating and Plumbing, and
until retirement worked at Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics in
Groten, Conn. He was active in the naval reserve until retirement.
He was a 32 degree Mason and played the glockenspiel in the marching band.
He also enjoyed painting, especially dogs.
Charles is survived by four children: Torie Swanson, Mark (Jane) Derby of
Frewsburg, Scott (Judy) Derby of Kersey, Pa., and Shelley (Dick) Stahlman
of Jamestown; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and a brother,
Edward (Marilyn) Derby of Warren, Pa.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters: Mable Helscel,
Marion Derby and Eleanor Ruffennach; a brother, John Derby; a grandson,
Craig Swanson; and a great-grandson, Brenden Garcia

DeSantis, Clarice Ruth
Clarice Ruth DeSantis, 88, formerly of Memory Garden and Dunn Ave., Jamestown,
died at 5:30 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 10, 2011), in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled
Nursing Facility.
She was born March 11, 1923, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Clarence
and Ruth Nelson. Clarice attended Jamestown, Falconer, and Lakewood Schools. Following
high school, she was employed as assistant manager at the former BiCo Ice Cream and
Dairy, where she met her future husband Patsy DeSantis, and their lifelong friends,
the "East Side Gang."
After her marriage to Patsy, she took pride in staying at home to care for her
home and family. She was involved in the East Jamestown and Ring School PTA,
Home Bureau, and served as an election inspector for many years.
Clarice was a communicant of Holy Apostles Parish, St. John Catholic Church,
where she was dedicated to any work project. She worked at St. Joseph's Table
and St. John's annual Italian Festival, developing the recipe for the "gardunes."
She enjoyed crafts, crocheting, quilting, embroidery, and her flower garden.
In later years, Clarice and Patsy enjoyed traveling, visiting Italy, the Holy Land,
and bus trips to Atlantic City and Niagara Falls. She also enjoyed spending time with
her friends at the East Side Fellowship Club, going out to eat following Mass with
the Sunday morning breakfast group and meeting with her cousins for "cousins club."
Surviving are two daughters: Suzanne R. (Jim) Boland of Lakewood, and Patricia (Steven)
Babbage of Concord, N.C.; two grandsons: Christopher Babbage of Jamestown, and Andrew
Babbage of Manchester, England; a sister, Viola (Edward) Nelson of Lakewood; a brother,
Gene (Sarah) Nelson of Lakewood; a sister-in-law, Patricia "Twig" Nelson of Port Charlotte,
Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Patsy L. DeSantis,
whom she married May 22, 1948, and who died March 18, 2009; and a brother, Kenneth Nelson.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Apostles
Parish, St. John Catholic Church. The Rev. Dennis W. Mende, pastor, will be celebrant.

DeVlieger, Bert E. Sr.
Bert E. DeVlieger Sr., 80, formerly of Kennedy, Lakewood and Panama, passed
away at 2:10 a.m. Friday (March 29, 2013), in the Heritage Park Rehab and
Skilled Nursing Facility.
A lifelong area resident, he was born March 11, 1933, in Jamestown, N.Y.,
a son of the late Robert and Anna Goade DeVlieger.
Before his retirement, he was employed as a supervisor for the former
Dahlstrom Manufacturing Company, where he worked for 20 years.
He was a faithful member of the Niobe Baptist Church and in earlier years
was a board member for the Church of the Nazarene, where he was instrumental
in the groundbreaking and building of the church. He will be remembered as a
loving and caring father and grandfather who loved to go camping and spend time fishing.
Surviving are three daughters: Carolyn (Ronnie) Smith of Busti, Pamela
DeVlieger of Jamestown, and Charlotte McNeill of Greenhurst; two sons: Robert
E. (Mary) DeVlieger of Panama, and Bert E. (Chrissy) DeVlieger Jr. of Kennedy,
24 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; and four great-greatgrandchildren.
He is also survived by his loving dog, "Angel," who was his constant companion
through the years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Esther
Malacky DeVlieger, whom he married March 18, 1950, and who died Aug, 20, 2005,
a sister, Joyce Culver; a son, Carl J. Stevens; and a great-grandson, Devin Daniels.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev.
Kevin Hadley, pastor of the Niobe Baptist Church, will officiate. Inurnment will
be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service on Monday in the

Dickinson, MayBelle E.
BATAVIA - MayBelle E. Dickinson, 96, of Batavia, a longtime resident of Evergreen
Drive, died Saturday (May 19, 2012), at the LeRoy Village Green following a brief
illness.
She was born in Buffalo, N.Y. on Jan. 26, 1916, to Frederick and Frances (Snyder)
Dykstra. MayBelle was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Batavia for 86 years,
where she was a member of the choir, a member and official of the church's Star Class
and served as the church historian for many years. As a young girl, she attended Genesee
Wesleyan Seminary boarding school in Lima, N.Y., where she was fortunate enough to meet
then New York State governor Franklin D. Roosevelt, and was invited to sit on his lap
during a visit to the school. She was chosen for this honor because she was the smallest
member of her class. MayBelle was a 1934 graduate of Batavia High School and also
attended the Park Avenue School of Nursing in Rochester, N.Y. She was a graduate of
Rochester Business Institute. As a young woman, she was a medical secretary in the
offices of Dr. Irwin Cole and Dr. Gaylord Ribby and was a former employee of Lawing
Studio in Batavia.
MayBelle was predeceased in 1993 by her husband of 54 years, John D. Dickinson,
whom she met on a blind date and married four months later; grandson, Jeffrey Burdett;
sister, Virginia Dykstra; and brother, Earl Dykstra.
She is survived by her three children: Paul (Joan) Dickinson of Holley, Virgina
(Russel) Yoho of Mayville, and Marsha (Ronald) Ladd of Batavia. She was the grandmother
to seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by cherished
cousins: George and Corinne Klein of Getzville; and a dear friend, Mary Ellen Schnellman
of Florida.
There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m.
at the Emmanuel Baptist Church, 190 Oak St., Batavia, N.Y. 14020. Burial will be in
the Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Corfu. Memorials may be made to the church or to the

Dickson, Pauline (Polly) Harriet Weir
Pauline (Polly) Harriet Weir Dickson, 93, died on Thursday, Dec. 22, 2011 after
a period of declining health.
She was a long-time resident of Western NY, and was active in many family,
church, music, and community circles. She loved the rolling hills of Chautauqua
County, and enjoyed exploring its by-ways and back roads to find vistas, pussy
willows, lupine, or the studio of a local craftsperson. She designed their family
home in the tradition of Frank Lloyd Wright, designed and sewed clothing, painted,
threw pottery, and sang in the church and Mozart choirs. She was an exceptional
cook and loved to share her home with friends and distant family members.
Pauline was born in Edwardsville, Ill., the eldest child of Clyde Earl Weir
and Ida Hope Curtis. She spent her early years in Corry, Pa., and moved to
Fredonia as a girl and later to Dunkirk, where she graduated in the Dunkirk
High School class of 1935. She enrolled in home economics at Michigan State
University, where she also pursued courses in drafting and architecture. She
completed her education at the Rochester Institute of Technology, where she
transferred to be near her future husband, William A. Dickson. They married
in September 1941, just before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. Her husband
completed medical school and accepted a reserve commission with the US Navy. Following
the birth of their first son, Pauline moved to Kenmore, N.Y., to live with
her parents during the war. She supported the war effort as a welder and
draftsman at Linde Air Products.
After the war and the completion of her husband's medical training in NYC,
they lived briefly on the west coast before moving to Jamestown. She raised
five children while her husband built his medical practice. She was an active
member in the First Presbyterian Church of Jamestown throughout her life, and
was one of the first two women to become a church elder. She was active on
the boards of numerous community organizations, including the YWCA, the Agnes
and Warner Homes, the General Hospital Auxiliary, and she volunteered for
Lutheran Social Services for more than 20 years. Later in life, she
joined the Audubon, where she volunteered and enjoyed exploring the trails.
Pauline is survived by her five children and their spouses: Peter W. Dickson
of Houston, Texas, Wendy O'Connor (Dennis) of Jamestown, N.Y., Julie Dickson
(Jay Smeltz) of Keene, N.H., Laurie Dickson of Durango, Colo., and Andrew Dickson
(Janet Chew) of Jamestown, N.Y. She will be missed by her three grandchildren,
Jennifer O'Connor Shafer (Matthew Shafer), Hannah Dickson Smeltz (Spartan Giordano)
and Andrew Smeltz, two great-grandchildren, Finlan and Daly Shafer and her
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in her death by her husband, Dr. William A. Dickson, who
passed in 1987; her brother, David Weir; and sisters, Nancy Sparks and
Margaret Graham.
The family will hold a celebration of her life in the spring to be announced
by the Lind Funeral Home.

of nature or the YWCA of Jamestown to honor her activities to improve the

Dilker, Douglas L. Jr.
Douglas L. Dilker Jr., 52, of 133 High Acres Bemus Point, formerly of
Lakewood, died Sunday Nov. 27, 2011, at home.
He was born May 9, 1959, in Jamestown the son of Douglas L. and Marlene
Mansfield Dilker Sr.
Doug was a 1977 graduate of Southwestern Central High School, where he ran
track, making all state in the 880 and during his senior year, made states
in cross country. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States
Marine Corp, serving until 1981 at Camp Lejeune where he continued to run track.
He then went to work for the State of New York in waste management in the
Albany area. Before returning to the Jamestown area, he worked at SUNY
Brockport as a boiler room operator and from 1995 until the present, and
was employed in the maintenance department at WCA Hospital.
Doug was a member of the Marine Corp Fellowship and the Ellery Sno
Goers Snowmobile Club. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan, a history
buff, and enjoyed camping and spending time with his family.
Surviving besides his parents of Bemus Point are, a son, Dustin (Sara) Dilker
of Jamestown; two daughters: Daisha Dilker of Jamestown, and Kay Dilker of
Rochester; two sisters: Diane (David) Key of Kennedy, and Darla (Kevin) Vik
of Bemus Point; his lifelong best friend, Robert (Janis) Nau of San Diego,
Calif; nieces and nephews: Michael Key, Shannon (Dennis) Simmons, Kevin Vik,
Ryan Vik, Andy Vik and Cole Vik; one great-niece, Morgan Vik; two great-nephews:
Aaron and Joshua Simmons; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Byron and Ethel Dilker and Milo
and Kathryn Mansfield; and three uncles: Dale Mansfield; Charles and Dennis Dilker.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral

Barbara A. Card Dill, 67, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away Thursday, Dec. 29,
2011, at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital, following a brief illness.
Barbara was born April 24, 1944, in Dunkirk, N.Y., to Lawrence E. and Alice M.
(Albright) Card.
She had retired from MedCentral Hospital, and was a member of the Moose Lodge
341 Women of the Lodge.
Barbara had numerous hobbies, including doing crossword puzzles, crocheting and
working with flowers. For many years, she enjoyed fishing, golfing and camping. She
also had a deep love for her animal friends: Tippy, Chance, Carmel and Simba.
She is survived by her son, William "Bill" Dill of Mansfield; two brothers: Theodore
(Maureen) Card of Jamestown, N.Y., and Sidney Card of Warren, Pa; and one sister,
Judy Sage of Mansfield.
Along with her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard
Dill, on April 1, 2006; and two infant sons.

Mary M. Dixson, 65, of W.E. Jamestown, formerly of Falconer, passed away Thursday
(May 31, 2012), in her home.
She was born Oct. 16, 1946, in Sykesville, Pa., the daughter of Arther and Rose
DePillo Heffner.
Mary was a graduate of Jamestown High School, and in earlier years was employed by
Proto Tool. Prior to retirement, she was employed by Anderson Screw Products, retiring
in 2010.
Mary enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. She also enjoyed
antiquing, attending flea markets and gardening. She was a member of the Henry
Mosher Post 638, American Legion Auxiliary, and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Surviving are her husband, Stanley E. Dixson, whom she married Jan. 29, 1966, in
Jamestown; two sons: Stanley G. Dixson of DuBois, Pa., and Aaron (Stacey) Dixson of
W.E. Jamestown; three grandchildren: Sophia, Michael and Gillian Dixson all of W.E.
Jamestown; her mother, Rose Heffner of Falconer; and a sister, Rose Mary Ellingson
of Falconer.
She was preceded in death by her father, Arther Heffner; and a brother, Arther
Joseph Heffner.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday

Dommermuth, Dr. Paul R. (Ab) Ph.D.
Dr. Paul R. Dommermuth, 76, of Dunkirk, professor emeritus of sociology at SUNY
Fredonia, died Friday (Nov. 18, 2011), following a brief illness.
He was born Dec. 18, 1935, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, the adopted son of the late
Bertha Dommermuth.
Paul, along with his mother and aunt Ruth Shippey, both of whom were missionaries,
escaped from his birthplace during the Italian invasion which began in 1936. He
was then brought to Avoca, Pa., where his mother and aunt Ruth established the
Full Gospel Church.
Dr. Dommermuth received his Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and psychology
from Houghton College in 1958, followed by his Master of Arts degrees in
sociology from the University of Rochester and Rutgers University. His Ph.D.
was earned at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1968 with
a dissertation on Retail Pharmacy: Professional Contingencies in Business
Settings.
He was a trainee at the National Institute of Mental Health in a joint program
of social research and psychology at UNC Chapel Hill. He also served as an
assistant professor in the sociology department of the University of
Florida at Coral Gables, research assistant professor in the division of
sociology, department of psychiatry, at the University of Illinois College
of Medicine in Chicago, and from 1969 until 1974, he was an associate professor
in the Fredonia State University College sociology department. He served as
a full professor from 1974 until his retirement in January 2000.
The list of his special awards, publications, scholarly papers and other
academic and professional activities runs to more than six typed pages.
In June 1988, Dr. Dommermuth was appointed Chautauqua County Mental Health
Commissioner by Chautauqua County Executive John A. Glenzer, a position he held
until December 1995. At the time of his appointment, he was serving on the
advisory board of the Chautauqua County Home, was a member of the Community
Services Board and chairman of its Mental Health Subcommittee.
Dr. Dommermuth was active with the Salvation Army, serving as a board member
and volunteer bell ringer. He also belonged to the NAACP and had particpated
in marches during the 1960s.
Dr. Dommermuth enjoyed traveling and meeting new people. This led to the many
friendships he created around the world. He enjoyed fishing, including trips to
Alaska with close friends. A lover of jazz, he took several Jazz Cruises,
and also enjoyed watching hockey and football with friends.
Surviving are his extended group of close friends who became his family; and
his former wife, Linda, of Vald, Ga.
A celebration of life memorial gathering led by Gail Wolfe will take place
Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 1 p.m. at the First Ward Falcon Club.

Donus, Albert
Albert Donus, 86, of Jamestown, N.Y., and Hagerstown, Md., died Saturday May 19,
2012, in UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Pa., after a brief illness.
A native of Paterson, N.J., he was born July 12, 1925, the son of the late Albert
and Minnie Breen Donus.
He earned a bachelor's degree for New York University in accounting and went on to
become a certified public accountant.
An extremely hard worker, he was employed by Fairchild Aircraft as an auditor and
later became dean of instruction at Hagerstown Business College, while at the same
time owning and operating Betty Winn Incorporated.
Surviving is a daughter, Gail Donus of Jamestown and Hagerstown, a sister-in-law,
Lucille Crossley of Hagerstown and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, the former Gladys Crossley,
whom he married June 8, 1946, and who died November 13, 2007, and a sister Marion Stroher.
No funeral service or visitation will be observed.

Leo G. "Gabby" Dorman, 85, of Leon, NY passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Lakeshore
Hospital in Irving, NY.
He was born October 10, 1929 in Jamestown, NY the son of the late Leon and Nellie
(Hill) Dorman-Bromley.
On October 29, 1954 he married the former Louise Nickerson who survives.
Mr. Dorman was a Korean War Veteran having served in the US Army. He worked
for TODCO and Champion in Cattaraugus, NY for over 50 years.
He was a lifetime member of the South Dayton American Legion, past member of
the Randolph Moose and member of the New Apostolic Church in Cattaraugus, NY.
He also was an avid outdoorsman and loved birds, cows and horses.
Besides his loving wife of 60 years, he is survived by three sons,
Ronald (Cheryl) Dorman of Gowanda, David Dorman of Leon, NY and Roger
Dorman of Jamestown, NY; a daughter, Linda (Paul) Hallett of North Collins,
NY; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister Rosemary Babbet.
Friends may call at the Mentley Funeral Home Inc., 411 Rock City Street,
Little Valley, NY on Monday, March 23 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.
Funeral and military services will be held on Tuesday, March 24 at 11 a.m.,

Dorman, Madeline H.
Madeline Dorman, 97, of 560 Fairmount Ave., West Ellicott, formerly of 653 Lakeview
Ave., Jamestown, died at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday (Nov. 29, 2011), in her home.
She was born Aug. 17, 1914, in Jamestown, the daughter of Berger and Rena Winsryg
Nelson.
She was a 1932 graduate of Jamestown High School, and had formerly been employed
at Nelson and Butts Florist.
Mrs. Dorman was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, and had worked in its
Thrift Shop. She was also a former member of the P.T.A. and had been very active
with the Order of the Eastern Star.
She enjoyed reading, knitting, and needlepoint, and, enjoyed spending winters in
Sun City, Ariz.
Surviving are two daughters: Barbara J. Davis of Dewittville, and Cynthy D.
(Donald) Remington of Deland, Fla.; a son, J. Thomas (Mary) Dorman of Dryden,
N.Y.; eight grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren;
and a cousin, Naomi Sotir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles R. Dorman, whom she married Dec.
29, 1932, and who died Jan. 10, 2003; and by a sister, Ellenor Anderson, who
died in 1999.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, in St. Luke's
Episcopal Church. Inurnment will be in St. Luke's Columbarium.

Dorr, Lucille B.
BEMUS POINT - Lucille B. Dorr passed away on Monday, December 26, 2011, after a long
battle with Parkinson's.
Her final months were spent at Heritage Green Nursing Facility.
She was born in Clarence, N.Y., to Irene and Irving W. Bald. She was a sister to
the late Elton and Allan Bald as well as the late Bernice Moyer of Amherst.
Lucy attended Parker High of Clarence, N.Y., Class of 1949. She worked as a stencil
artist at the Retailer Weekly. Then she spent 18 years at William J. Keller Printing
before finishing her career in advertising at Faller, Klenk & Quinlain and retiring
in 1986 to enjoy her many pastimes.
Lucy was very multitalented. She was a crafter, baker, and home decorator. She loved
to braid rugs, hook rugs, needlework, decorate her home and was a very accomplished
calligrapher. Always loving to share her talents with all those that surrounded her.
Lucy's love of nature and the outdoors took her and her husband James J. Dorr to
their final home in Chautauqua. Lucille and Jim were married 56 years. Their talents
were reflected in each other and all the good times they shared.
She was a wife, friend, aunt, and mentor to all who knew her. She had a profound
influence on everyone especially the children in her life. She touched many and
was loved by all. Teaching everyone to love life, nature and all that is creative. Her
laughter will ring forever in our hearts.
Lucy is survived by her husband Jim and three nephews, Gary, Todd, and Scott and
their families.
A memorial service to celebrate Lucy's life will be held at a later date.

Joyce Annette Clark Dowdy, 72, a resident of Auburndale, Fla., passed into her
eternal life in heaven on Monday, Aug. 20, 2012, due to cancer.
Joyce was born March 12, 1940, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Arthur and Lilo (Weatherly) Clark.
She was an Auburndale resident since 1970 coming from Ohio. She grew up in Bemus Point,
N.Y., graduating from high school class of 1958. After marriage to Boyd Linamen, they
moved to Florida, where she raised her family. Later, she married William ''Pete''
Dowdy in 1989.
One of the greatest joys in her life was knowing Jesus as her personal savior and
friend. Her faith in God was a sustaining force in her life. She attended the Family
Worship Center in Lakeland, was a longtime volunteer with Angels for Hope, crocheting
angels for those in need of hope and reassurance that they were loved.
Joyce enjoyed working in the yard and had been employed for many years in horticulture
at Sea World in Orlando and boardwalk/baseball.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tami Dawn Linamen Hicks in 1985
as the result of an automobile accident, which also took the life of a dear friend,
Ruth Phipps; brothers: Donald and Chuck Clark; sisters: Ruth Clark and Shirley LeBaron;
and many other family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, William ''Pete'' Dowdy of Auburndale,
Fla.; three sons: Terry Ronald (Leoa) Linamen of Winter Haven, Fla., Tim Donald
(Lisa) Linamen of Auburndale, Fla., and Todd David (Elaine) Linamen of Auburndale,
Fla.; two stepsons: William Allen Dowdy of Winter Haven, Fla., and Timothy Wade
(Kim) Dowdy of Winter Haven, Fla.; and many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
There are no services scheduled for Mrs. Dowdy at this time.

Draudt, Dr. Richard P.
OCALA, Fla. - Dr. Richard P. Draudt DVM, 83, of SW 83rd Ave., Ocala, Fla., passed away
Sunday (Jan. 1, 2012), in Florida, after a brief illness.
He was born March 1, 1928, in Gowanda, N.Y., the son of the late Phillip H. and Mabel
Kenngott Draudt.
After graduating from Gowanda High School, he attended Cornell University, where
he received his master's in animal husbandry, as well as his doctorate in veterinarian
medicine.
He moved to Randolph in the fall of 1953, where he began his veterinarian practice
and started Angus Hill Farm, which grew to maintain a herd of over 100 registered
Black Angus.
In 2002, Dr. Draudt and his wife, Jean moved to Ocala, Fla., where he continued his
career in veterinarian medicine, working part-time on a friend's thoroughbred breeding
farm until his death.
He was a member of the American Angus Association, National Embryo Transfer Association,
where he was renowned for his work in the development of embryonic transplantation. He will
be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his practice and the many long tireless
days he spent helping others.
He is survived by a daughter, Dawn Marie Bates of Brocton; two grandchildren: Kristen
(James) Bates Zappie of Fredonia and Richard Bates of Brocton; two great-grandchildren:
Lillian and Anthony Zappie of Fredonia; two stepsons; Larry (Cheryl) Frame of Stockton
and Richard Frame of Florida; three step-grandchildren: Nicole (Chris) Frame Kubacki,
John (Cara) Frame and Michael Frame; four step-great-grandchildren; Adriana, Giuliana
and Dominic Kubacki and Jack Frame; a sister, Joyce Stitzel of Gowanda; a niece, Nancy
Stitzel; and a nephew, Daniel (Barb) Stitzel.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean M. Kinney Draudt, whom he married on May 11,
1963, and who preceded him on March 12, 2009; and a brother, Robert Draudt in July 2010;
and brother-in-law, Ted Stitzel in August 2009.

was born in Dunkirk, June 16, 1930, the son of the late Bill and Violet (Kosinski)
Duliba. Survivors include a daughter, Terri Near; two grandchildren Georgette Ray
and Ryan Lycett; great-grandson, Nethaniel Parker; brothers: Lenny and Leo; son, Robert
Duliba; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by friend, Doris Slater; brothers:
Benny, Bill, Jake and Dan; and infant sister, Gloria. A memorial service is being planned

Peter D. "Pete" Dunham, 40, of Jamestown, passed away at 4:45 a.m. Friday (Nov.
18, 2011), at his residence.
A former resident of North Carolina, he was born July 4, 1971, in Lawrenceville,
Ga., a son of George E. Dunham and the late Sharon Reed Ryan.
Surviving are his father of Celoron, N.Y.; a son, Zachary D. Dunham of
Panama, N.Y.; a sister, Carrie Johnson of Ellington, N.Y., and his grandmother,
Isabelle Beardsley of Warren, Pa.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral
Home. There will be no formal funeral service observed.

Dunlavey, Dorian
Dorian Dunlavey, 84, of Rancho Palos Verdes, passed away on Oct. 30, 2011, at her
home surrounded by her family.
She was born on May 4, 1927, to Theodore and Ruth Brown in Panama, N.Y., and
was the youngest of their five children.
Dorian married Dean C. Dunlavey on Sept. 8, 1948. They remained married until
his death in 2003. Dorian graduated from Jamestown High School in 1945 and the
University of California, Berkeley, in 1955, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
In addition to raising her family, Dorian worked as an interior designer and a
travel agent. Her family moved to the Palos Verdes Peninsula in 1962. Dorian
provided strong support to the incorporation of the city of Rancho Palos Verdes
in 1973. She served as president of the local branch of the American Association
of University Women during the 1970s. Dorian was generous in many ways and provided
support to numerous individuals and organizations. She was active in her church and
served as a Stephen Minister. She will be laid to rest in Green Hills Memorial Park,
Rancho Palos Verdes.
Dorian is survived by her brother, Overton Brown of Dover, Ohio; her sister, Analinda
Felt of Jamestown and High Acres, Bemus Point; her sons, Dudley, Dean Geoffrey and
Dana; six grandchildren; and many other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Winters of Phoenix, Ariz., and her
brother, Thomas Brown of Rochester, N.Y.
Friends are invited to attend a memorial service for her, which will be held at
St. Peter's by the Sea Presbyterian Church, 6410 Palos Verdes Drive South, Rancho
Palos Verdes on Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.

Crystal E. Durnell, 40, of 3329 North Road, Sugar Grove, Pa., passed away Tuesday,
June 12, 2012, at Corry Memorial Hospital.
Crystal was born in Batesville, Ark., on March 15, 1972, a daughter of Joyce (
Anderson) and Junior Ring of Batesville, Ark.
She was a homemaker who excelled in Southern cooking. Crystal enjoyed crafts and
designing floral arrangements. She was an avid reader. She loved to color with
her son and play board games, especially Monopoly.
She was the wife of David J. Durnell, whom she married Dec. 23, 2000, in Batesville,
Ark.
In addition to her husband and parents, Crystal is survived by her son, Brayden C.
Durnell at home; brother, Ricky L. Ring of Mountain Home, Ark; father and mother-in-law,
Dennis and Debbie Durnell, of Sugar Grove, Pa.; brother-in-law, Danial J. Durnell of
Woodbridge, Va. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received at the Sugar Grove Branch of McKinney Funeral Homes, 117
Main St., Sugar Grove on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. where a funeral service will be
held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 16.

Ebony R. Duval, 29, of 18 W. 12th St. Jamestown, passed away Wednesday April 25,
2012, in WCA Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
She was born Aug. 1, 1982, in Jamestown, the daughter of Royce and Janice Coulter
Duval.
Ebony attended Jamestown Public Schools and graduated from Jamestown High School class
of 2000. She had been employed by the Jamestown Board of Education, and worked summers
at Chautauqua Institution. She was a member of the North Main St. Church of God and
the Moose Lodge. Ebony loved playing Bingo, attending Church, and being around
children. She was a very loving person who always had a smile on her face. Throughout
her illness, she always remained strong and positive. Ebony was a fantastic mother
who loved her family very much. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her two children: Jazon Fields and
Derion Duval; her two siblings: Tyson (Melissa) Coulter and Ronquike (Jose)
Maisonet; her grandparents, Betty Duval Rutley, Eileen Coulter, Donald Coulter
Sr., Linda Grinnell; her aunts and uncles: Gloria Jean (Wendell) Butler, Darlene
(Kenneth) Campbell, Princess (Tim) Coulter, Joan Y. Ferguson, Belinda (Rambo) Duval,
Marvin Duval, Anthony (Pam) Duval, Joanne (Ernest) Duval, Sonya Duval, and Latonya
Duval; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, LeRoy Spann; two uncles: Donald
Coulter Jr. and John Duval; and her niece, Samaya Maisonet.
The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Pastor
Beth Whitehead of the North Main Street Church of God will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.
