Fancher, Frances J. Palmer
DUNKIRK - Frances J. Palmer Fancher, 99, a resident
of the Chautauqua County Home, Temple Road, Dunkirk,
formerly of Creek Road, Forestville, died peacefully,
Friday, Nov. 25, at her residence.
She was born in Dunkirk on Oct. 7, 1912, the daughter
of the late Steve and Pauline (Bartkowski) Sikorski.
Mrs. Fancher worked as a Sewing Instructor for the former VanRaalte,
Inc. Silver Creek, for 16 1/2 years. She was a member of Forestville United
Methodist Church and the Lakeside Rebekah Lodge #381, Cassadaga. At one time
she served on the Board of Elections for the Town of Arkwright. Mrs. Fancher
was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting.
Survivors include a son, Lester (Virginia) Palmer, of Forestville; a step-daughter,
Donna (Carl) Kuhlman of Dunkirk; three stepsons: Robert Fancher, of Forestville,
Rollin Fancher, of Dunkirk, and David Fancher, of San Juan Capistrano, Calif.; a
sister, Hildegard Polvino, of St. Vincent's Home, Dunkirk; and a half sister,
Ruby Krautsack, of Griffin, Ga. Also surviving are two grandchildren, four
great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren,
step-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her first husband, Myrl Palmer; her
second husband, Albert Fancher; a sister, Florence Bernett; and three brothers:
Frank Geabon, Richard Ball and Ralph Ball.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St.,
Forestville on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., from where Funeral Services will
be held Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, with the Rev. James D. Hankey, pastor
of the Forestville United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow
in Arkwright Summit Cemetery, Town of Arkwright.

Farley, Ethel D. Youngberg
August 31, 2012
Ethel D. Youngberg Farley, 95, formerly of 329 E. Elmwood Ave., Falconer, passed
away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center in Jamestown.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 31, 2012, in the Lutheran Home
and Rehabilitation Center.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the memorial service in the chapel
of the nursing facility.
Fehlman, William L. I
William L. Fehlman I, 81, of Falconer passed on peacefully on Friday (Jan. 20, 2012)
surrounded by his loving family.
He was born May 20, 1930 in Erie, Pa., the son of Vorena Ornce.
On Sept. 11, 1946 he enlisted in the Army Air Force and was stationed at Yokata Army
Air Base, Japan.
He graduated from Falconer High School in 1951 and earned an Associate Degree in
Science in 1975 from JCC.
He went on to work at Floral Arts Plastic Company in Jamestown and as a general
contractor in Western New York area.
William was a member of the American Legion. His hobbies included arrowhead hunting
and various arts and craft projects. He also was an avid reader on many topics. He
had an immense love of animals and cared deeply for his many dogs and cats. William
was a kind, caring very loving husband, father and grandfather. He had a great concern
for all and he believed, "One must have the ability to understand and appreciate
imaginative creations of nature and others."
Surviving are his wife, Clarabelle M. Vandenburg Fehlman, whom he married June 30,
1956 in Jamestown; three children: Kathleen Cooley (Vern Wilson) of Falconer, Judith
(Pat) Bull of Falconer, William L. (Valerie) Fehlman II of Williamsburg, Va.;
10 grandchildren: Colleen Clark, Dana Clark, Matthew Clark, Katie Cooley, Krista
Cooley, Tara VandeVelde, Amber Seekings, Brittney Bull, Blaire Fehlman and
Caroline Fehlman; and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded by his mother Vorena Ornce, his step father Fred Ornce and his
brother Lee Fehlman I.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
The Rev. Cathy Smith Chaplain of Hospice will officiate.
Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Falconer Funeral
Home.

Felton, Richard E. “Dick”
WESTFIELD - Richard E. "Dick" Felton, 76, of Felton Road, Westfield, died
Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Select Specialty Care Hospital in Erie, Pa.
Dick was born Feb 13, 1935, in Westfield, N.Y., the son of the late Eugene
M. and Louise (Stull) Felton.
A lifelong Westfield resident, Dick graduated from Westfield Academy and
Central School and then from Cornell University with a degree in agricultural
engineering, where he was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. He ran the
family grape farm on Felton Road for many years.
Active in the agriculture field, Dick had been a consultant for the Mogen David
Wine Company and managed the MD Farms. He had also been a member of the National
Grape Cooperative for many years. He had been an active member of the New York
State National Guard in 1957.
A community minded man, Dick was the justice of the peace for the town of Westfield
for 33 years, from 1966 to 1999. He had been president of the former Westfield
Jaycees and was voted Outstanding Young Man of America in 1967 and Outstanding Young
Farmer in 1971.
He was a founding member and past president (1971) of the Westfield Kiwanis Club and
in 1999 received the Kiwanis International George F. Hixson Award. In 1989, he
participated in the Cornell University Woodland Management program. His love of the
grape industry lead him to be named the Grape Industry Person of the year of 2000
by the Lake Erie Regional Grape Program.
Dick was a member and former trustee of the First Presbyterian Church and Society
of Westfield for many years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 118 of
Westfield. Dick was an accomplished woodworker.
He is survived by his wife, Betty (Clancy) Felton, whom he married on Dec. 29, 1956,
in Westfield; his daughter: Mary Jean (Chris) Giacomazzo of Chicago, Ill.; and his
three sons: Tom (Shari) Felton of Byron, N.Y., and William (Kelly) Felton and Robert
(Rachael) Felton, both of Buffalo, N.Y. Dick was the proud grandfather of Lynnea,
Chase, Nathan, Emma, Lila and Michael. He is further survived by his sister, Jo-Ann
(Ronald) Golem of East Stroudsburg, Pa.
No prior calling will be observed. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service
on Saturday afternoon, Dec. 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. at The First Presbyterian Church and
Society of Westfield, 49 S. Portage St., Westfield, with the Rev. Stephen Morse officiating.
Burial will be private in Union Cemetery. The Felton family will receive friends
immediately following the services at the YWCA of Westfield, 58 S. Portage St.,
Westfield, for a time of reunion and refreshment.

Fera, Janice Johnson
Janice Johnson Fera, 61, of 35 Case, Lakewood, died Tuesday, June 26, 2012, in WCA
Hospital.
In the days before her death, Jan's hospital room was filled with laughter and the
celebration of her life with those who surrounded her. Janice was that rare individual
who radiated genuine interest, kindness, and concern for the individuals with whom she
came in contact. This quality drew others to her and was reflected by the number of
individuals who arrived to sit with her and called her daily during her illness. Janice
spent her last days surrounded by the family and friends she loved. She will be missed.
She was born Jan. 16, 1951, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Phillip Johnson and
Virginia Carlson Johnson Atkins and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Johnson
and Mrs. Loletta Carlson.
Following her graduation from Southwestern Central School in 1969, Jan enrolled in Ithaca
College and earned her bachelor's degree in physical therapy in 1973.
Jan enjoyed her career as a physical therapist, and found great satisfaction in
helping her patients return to mobility and health. Her long career as a physical
therapist began at Robert Brigham Hospital, Boston, Mass., followed by San Diego
Orthopedics, Orthopedic Consultants, Encino, Calif., and lastly Chautauqua Physical
Therapy, Jamestown. She was a former member of American Physical Therapists Association.
Jan enjoyed camping, hiking and travelling to see family or friends. She particularly
enjoyed the many gatherings the family held each year.
Surviving are two sons: Nicholas Fera and Michael Fera. both of Los Angeles, Calif.;
aunts: Helen J. Swanson of Lakewood, Kay Crossley of Jamestown, and June Carlson
of Bushnell, Fla.; uncle: James (Barbara) Johnson of Jamestown; cousin. Carol (Mark)
Hassenberg of Red Bank, N.J.; three brothers: Steven (Anne) Johnson of Lafayette, La,
David Johnson of Houston, Texas, and Michael (Evelyn) Johnson of Lantana, Fla.; a sister,
Mara (Brad) Johnson of Sherman; nieces and nephews: Stephanie, Ryan, Andrew, Jesse and
Michelle Johnson, Tiffany Green and Brandon Winston; cousins: Jerry (Julie) Stanton, Tom
(Nancy) Stanton, John (Liz) Crossley, David (Janet) Crossley, Lori (Leo) Jones, Bonnie

Ferguson, Howard W. “Fergie”
WESTFIELD - Howard W. "Fergie" Ferguson, 94, of Oak Street, Westfield, died Tuesday
(Dec. 27, 2011), in Westfield Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 26, 1917. in Erie, Pa. Howard was a veteran with the U.S. Army
Air Corp during World War II.
Howard had worked at Welch Foods in Westfield for several years.
He is survived by a son, John Paul (Gloria) Ferguson; two daughters: Priscilla Stallsmith,
and Thea Watkins; two granddaughters: Elyssa Watkins, and Rebecca (Christopher) Quirk;
great-granddaughters: Angelica and Emily Quirk; daughter-in-law, June Selden Ferguson;
sister, Eleanor May John; brother, Donald (Beryl) Kurgan; sisters-in-law: Caroline
Hunt and Zona Kurgan; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Bourne Ferguson Kurgan; father, Henry
Ferguson; stepfather, Stanley Kurgan; wife, June Hammond Ferguson; son, Ray Ferguson;
brother, Paul Kurgan; sons-in-law, Robert Watkins and Burton Stallsmith.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
The Freay Funeral Home in Mayville is in charge of arrangements.
Ferraro, Samuel J.
Samuel J. Ferraro, 93, of Hultquist Place, formerly of 13 Harris Ave., Jamestown, died
at 4:30 a.m. Saturday (January 7, 2012) in WCA Hospital.
He was born May 11, 1918, in Summerville, Pa., the son of James and Grace Cammarata
Ferraro.
Prior to retirement, Sam worked at Crawford Furniture for many years. He was a communicant
of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Knights of Columbus, where he earned
the 4th degree. He was an avid golfer and coached many Babe Ruth Baseball teams over
the years. Sam was devoted to his family.
Surviving are his wife of 69 years, Viola Gelotte Ferraro; a son, James P. (Nancy)
Ferraro of Brentwood, Tenn.; a daughter, Nancy Blatt of Santa Rosa, Calif.; a
granddaughter, Alicia (Bryan) Collins of New Albany, Ohio; and twin great grandsons,
Samuel and William Collins.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Latona, and his son-in-law, Paul Blatt.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday January 9, 2012, in
St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be celebrant.
Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Lind Funeral
Home where a Christian Wake Service will be led at 4 p.m.

Field, Arlene N.
Arlene N. Field, 72, of 283 S. Main St., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, in her home.
A Jamestown native, she was born April 23, 1939, a daughter of the late Donald and
Rachel Pinney Erickson.
She was a member of Camp Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed making crafts
and ceramics and playing piano. She was a devoted mom and grand-mother, and
loved spending time with her family. She will be especially missed by her
pet dog, Cuddles.
Surviving are her husband, Harry Field, whom she married Sept. 28, 1956; six
children: Jan (Robert) Williams, Jill (David) Conklin, Darren (Debbie) Field,
Thomas (Michelle) Tonkin and Donald (Sherrie) Tonkin, all of Jamestown, and
Greg (Karen) Field of Cassadaga; 15 grandchildren: Julie (Brad) Arnink, Jennifer
and Robert Williams, Rachel (Chris) Conti, Pam (Matt) Reese, Christina and DJ
Conklin, Andrew and Danielle Field, Heather, Brandon, Jed, Jakob, Joshua and
Jonah Tonkin; five great- grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Rebecca Tonkin in 1975.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev.
Kevin Costner will officiate.
Burial will be in Lake View Cemetery.

Dawn M. Fisher, 42, of 358 S. Main St., Jamestown, died in her home on Aug. 27, 2012.
She was born March 4, 1970, in Philadelphia, Pa., the daughter of John and Sharon
Fisher She is survived by her live-in companion, Joseph Galati Jr.; her mother,
Sharon; two brothers; a sister; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John Fisher.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Fisher, Twila L.
Twila L. Fisher, 83, of 349 Howard Ave., W.E., died at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28,
2011, in her home.
An area resident most of her life, she was born Nov. 10, 1928, in Woodland, Pa., a
daughter of the late Ray and Elsie Moore Turner.
She had been employed by the Bausch & Lomb Co. in Jamestown for 10 years and earlier
by the former Zayre Department Store in Lakewood.
Twila had belonged to the Phillipsburg (Pa.) Senior Center for several years.
She is survived by a son, Edward Fisher of Evansville, Ind.; two daughters: Sharon
(Gerald) Reed of Jamestown, and Donna Fredrickson of West Ellicott; six grandchildren:
Jason and Jarrett Reed of Jamestown, Deanna McLain of Kennedy, Julie (Peter) Morrison
of Sugar Grove, Pa., Nathan Fisher of Florida, and David Fisher of South Carolina;
several great-grandchildren: including: Madelyn, Leah and Lane Morrison, Fisher Reed
and Kylen Faulkner; and sister, Margaret Smeal of Woodland, Pa.
Twila was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fisher, who died Sept. 11, 2001;
a son, Gary Fisher; a sister, Iona English; and four brothers: Robert, Blair, Franklin
and Raymond Turner.
"Grandma Fishy" will be sadly missed by her great-grandchildren.
A private family memorial service will be held, with the Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt
officiating.

Flexer, Marie-Louise
WESTFIELD - Marie-Louise Flexer, 84, of Grove St., Westfield, died Sunday, Nov.
20, 2011, at St. Vincent Health Center, Erie.
She was born in Poule, France, on July 11, 1927, and raised in a 12th century
castle, where she lived with her parents, the late Jean-Baptiste and Louise
(Perraut) Fouiloux and her older siblings.
She managed to survive the German occupation during World War II, and came to
America in 1952 aboard the ocean liner "Liberty." She became employed by the
French embassy in New York City and in 1953, her beautiful smile caught the eye
of her future husband. She and Morton Flexer married in 1954 in Maryland. They
lived on Long Island, where she worked as a substitute teacher and eventually moved
back to New York City, where she was employed on Wall Street with the U.S. Trust Company.
A Westfield resident since 1981, she came to Westfield with her husband, when he
became administrator of the Westfield Memorial Hospital. "Lisette," as she was
known by her family and friends, was very active around her home and helped to
raise her granddaughter, Lindsay. The Flexers retired to the home they built on
Allen Road in 1989.
She is survived by her husband, Morton Flexer, her daughter, Leslie C. Flexer of
Westfield, N.Y. and her son: Alain (Elizabeth) Flexer of New Orleans, La. She was
the proud grandmother of Lindsay Ann (Rene') Louapre and Alain David Flexer Jr., all
of New Orleans, La., and Danielle Marie Flexer of Westfield, N.Y. Many relatives and
friends also survive in France.
She is predeceased by her three sisters; one brother; and two half-brothers.
Friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon,
Nov. 26, 2011, at the Fredonia Grange Hall, 85 West Main St., Fredonia, N.Y., with
the Rev. Theresa Kime officiating.

Fluent, Robert L. Sr.
Robert L. Fluent Sr. (Bob), 83, of Kennedy, passed away Friday (April 27, 2012)
in WCA Hospital.
The youngest of three children, he was born October 24, 1928, to Lee Roy and Jennie
Pollard Fluent.
Bob proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, for which he was awarded
several medals including the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Before his retirement Bob was employed for 32 years by Marlin-Rockwell. Bob also
enjoyed hunting, fishing and turkey shoots.
Bob is survived by his wife, Elsa, five children: Kathy Peru (Alex) Montijo of Benson,
Ariz., Robert Jr. (Rosita), Aaron (Amy) of Kennedy, Mark (Eunice) of Jamestown and Teresa
(Lester) Stacey of Frewsburg; five stepchildren: Tom Reich of Sinclairville, Richard
(Pat) of Falconer, Rod (Ruth) of Virginia, Teresa (Michael) Hanson of Illinois and
Ricky (Kelly) of Colorado. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 12
step-grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, and 6 step-great-grandchildren, as well
as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Fluent was preceded in death by his first wife
of 42 years, Rosetta Glendenning Fluent, in 1995, and his sisters, Judith Becker
and Alice Whitney.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the Falconer Funeral
Home. Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the service.

Ford, Clarice Jeanne
NORTH MYRTLE BEACH - Clarice Jeanne Ford, 86, died Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at her
home surrounded by her family.
Born on Sept. 16, 1925, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late C.
Harry and Mildred Ash Nelson.
She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Ford is survived by her husband of 64 years, Alfred Ford of North Myrtle Beach;
two sons: John T. Ford and William E. "Bill" Ford; daughter, Cindy Scott; six
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 20, at Trinity United
Methodist Church. The family will receive friends following the service.

Fortune, Jeanne Tiffany
Jeanne Tiffany Fortune, 97, of 174 McDaniel Ave., died Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2012, in
her home.
She was born Nov. 8, 1914, in Port Chester, N.Y., and was the daughter of the
late A. Clarence and Lona Millard Tiffany.
A 1932 graduate of Jamestown High School, Jeanne had been employed in earlier years
by the former Poirier & McLane Corp. in Falconer, and Art Metal Corp. For four years,
she worked as receptionist at the former Siegfried's Photography Studio and for 20
years as a buyer for Bigelow's department store.
In 1961, she moved to Washington D.C., where she married her husband, Frank C. Fortune
on June 8, 1961. Here she served on the board of the Washington Hospital Center and
for the Episcopal Home of Washington.
After retirement to North Carolina where she attended St. Phillip's Episcopal Church,
the Fortunes returned to Jamestown in 1986.
Jeanne was a life member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday
school and volunteered in the thrift store. She had been a member of the Chautauqua
Lake Yacht Club, Fenton Historical Society, JHS Alumni's 100 Member Club, Chautauqua
Blind Association and the OptiMrs. Club.
Surviving is her lifetime friend, June Wahlberg of Lakewood, and long time friends
and caretakers, Donna and Barry Mason of Jamestown.
She was preceded in death by her husband on April 15, 1999.
A private service will be held. Visitation will not be observed. Burial will be
in Lake View Cemetery.

Foust, Christopher L.
Christopher L. Foust, 40, of 116 Williams St., Jamestown, died unexpectedly
Monday, Dec. 5, 2011.
An area resident the past 18 years, he was born Jan. 6, 1971, in Greensboro,
N.C., the son of Norma Loretta Foust.
He had been employed by Golden Valley Transport.
Surviving are his mother of Greensboro; his fiance, Natalie Monroe; three
sons: Xavier Foust, Dylan Monroe and Dante Vaughn and a daughter, Essence Foust,
all of Jamestown; and two brothers: Antonio and Sherman Foust, both of Greensboro.
He was preceded in death by two aunts: Nevard Vaird and Jackie Foust.
In Loving Memory of Christopher Foust, Chris was a wonderful and loving father,
a great provider and wonderful fiance. His number one priority was his children.
They were his life! He loved playing baseball with his kids and even was an
umpire for his daughter's team. He also loved riding his motorcycle and playing
cards with his friends. You will always be missed and never forgotten.
The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral
Home. The Rev. Donald V. Erickson will officiate. Burial will be in Greensboro,
where funeral services will also be held.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.

Francis, Ronald A.
Ronald A. Francis, 54, of Jamestown, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 20,
2011), in WCA Hospital.
A lifelong area resident, he was born Jan. 19, 1957, in Jamestown, N.Y.,
a son of the late Stanley A. and Allene Baker Francis, Sr.
He had been employed by Acme Appliance as a service technician for several
years and had previously worked at Chautauqua Hardware Corporation.
Ron was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Club of Jamestown.
Ronnie will be greatly missed by his many friends whose lives he touched
on a daily basis. Though he departed young the memories will last a
lifetime. "We only part to meet again"- John Gay.
Surviving are his brother, James G. Francis of Jamestown; seven nieces: Jillian,
Haleigh, Taylor, Shelby, Katherine, Carollee and Katie Francis; several
great-nieces and great-nephews; his cousins: Debbie and Skip Dean, Carol and
Ron LeRoy; his uncle Don Baker and Aunt Kathryn Baker.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers: Stanley A.
Francis Jr., who died July 21, 1999 and Richard W. Francis, who died June 30,
2001; and his maternal grandparents Dorothy and Frank Brooks.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Visitation
will not be observed.
Burial will be in the Mayville Cemetery.

Frazier, Thomas W.
Thomas W. Frazier, 94, went to be with the Lord Jan 4, 2012, at 3:40 a.m. at his
residence in Warren Manor.
He was born Dec. 18, 1917, in Byrom Town, Forest County, to the late John W. and Maude
Hummel Frazier II.
Thomas lived in Watson Farm, Forest County, most of his adult life. During World War
II, he served in the U.S. Army medical corps, and returned home to work construction
and in the Pennyslvania oil fields.
A member of the American Legion, NRA and Veterans of Foreign Wars, Tom enjoyed reading
and kept a daily journal of his life. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and nature
lover. Walks in the woods looking for old bottles or anything out of the ordinary were
a necessity and a long drive once a week had to be taken to see what was happening
outside of Watson Farm. You could always be assured he be watching Oral Roberts or
Robert Shuller on Sunday mornings.
Thomas is survived by a son, Gary Frazier and wife, Mairleen, Aiken, S.C.; a daughter,
Tammy Overend and husband, Howard, Stoneham, Pa; five grandchildren: Scott Frazier
and wife, Karen, Warren, Todd Frazier, Aiken, S.C., Gary Lee Frazier, Aiken, S.C.,
Tate Sheffer and wife, Christine, Irvine, and Thad Shaffer and wife, Cheryl, Port
Jefferson, L.I., N.Y.; two step grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step
great- grandchildren; one step great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and
nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Frazier was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley
Painter Frazier; two brothers: John W. Frazier III and Raymond Frazier; and two
sisters: Mildred Rodgers and Kathryn Crispin.
A funeral will be held Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at the Borden-Lloyd Funeral Home with
the Rev. Mark Rusnak, chaplain, Asera Hospice officiating at the 11 a.m. service. Burial
will follow in Frost Cemetery, Pigeon.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 and one
hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Friberg, Ebba E.
Ebba E. Friberg, 97, of Hultquist Place, 715 Falconer St., formerly of 128 Aldren
Ave., went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:55 p.m. Thursday (June 21, 2012)
in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation Center.
A lifelong area resident, she was born March 25, 1915, in Jamestown, N.Y., a
daughter of the late William and Ellen Benson Rudwall.
She was a 1933 graduate of Jamestown High School.
Ebba was well known as an excellent seamstress, and in earlier years had worked
at the former Bridal Shop and Nord's Women's Apparel. She and her husband Marshall
also owned and operated a grocery store on Newland Avenue from 1937 to 1943
She was a longtime member of the First Covenant Church where she was active in many
circles including the Hope Circle and the Senior Adult Fellowship. She also taught
Sunday school and served on the diaconate board. In later years, she served as a
volunteer at Jamestown General Hospital and for Lutheran Social Services.
Surviving is her daughter Kathleen A. (Bart) Anderson of Wilmette, Ill; her son-in-law,
Christopher Shinkman of Bethesda, Md.; four grandchildren: Laurel (Mark) Johnson of
Lynchburg, Va., Keith (Gretchen) Anderson of Seattle, Wa., Matthew (Amy) Shinkman of
Oakton, Va., and Elizabeth (Theodore) Carter of Tacoma Park, Md.; six great-grandchildren:
Lukas and Erik Johnson, Jack and Ebba Shinkman, Ben and Brett Carter; and a sister,
Grace Thyreen of Wainsberg, PA.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall A. Friberg,
whom she married July 25, 1936, and who died Oct. 31, 2004; a daughter, Marsha A.
Shinkman; an infant daughter, Elizabeth Marian Friberg; two brothers: Allen and
Ogden Rudwall; and two sisters: Alice Rudwall and Helen Smith.
A memorial service will be held at First Covenant Church, at a later date, to be
announced by the Lind Funeral Home. Inurnment will be in the Lake View Cemetery.

Frontuto, Robert W.
WESTFIELD - Robert W. Frontuto, 56, of Central Ave., Westfield, died Monday, Nov.
21, 2011, at his residence, following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Dunkirk, on Oct. 19, 1955, the son of Robert Frontuto of Forestville,
and the late Frances (Clark) Frontuto.
He was a graduate of Forestville Central School, class of 1973, and served in the
U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a dental specialist. Mr. Frontuto worked as a
lab technician for Welch Foods Inc., Westfield, for approximately 20 years.
He was a member of the Westfield Moose Lodge 118, and he enjoyed singing karoake,
hunting, walking on the beach and being a parent and grandparent.
Survivors include a son, Robert W. (Nicole) Frontuto Jr. of Brocton; a brother,
Brian K. Frontuto of Gowanda; and a sister, Dorie Mead of Fredonia. Also surviving
is one grandson, Anthony Joseph Frontuto.
Besides his mother, he was predeceased by a brother, Joseph D. Frontuto.
Friends are welcome to call at the Riles & Woolley Funeral Home, 39 Main St.,
Forestville, on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. from where funeral services
will be held Saturday morning at 11 a.m., with Pastor Molly Golando of the Sheridan
United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Forestville Cemetery.

Frost, Beverly
Beverly Frost, 67, of the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk, N.Y., passed away
Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, at the Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa.
She was born on Dec. 29, 1943, in Silver Creek, N.Y., the daughter of the
late Frank and Ellen Sausamen Hazelton. She had been a resident of the Brocton
area her entire life.
She was a retired waitress and had worked at the former Vineyard Restaurant in
Dunkirk, N.Y. She was a member of the Auxiliary of The American Legion Post 434
of Brocton, N.Y. She was also a lifetime member of the Beaver Club of Dunkirk,
N.Y. and the Conservation Club of Dunkirk, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, David Frost of Brocton, N.Y.; one son, Tim Frost
of Westfield, N.Y.; one daughter, Tracy (Timothy) MacDonald of Cassadaga, N.Y.;
three sisters: Shirley Cash of Portland, N.Y., Ruth Dolce of Silver Creek, N.Y.,
Beatrice Munson of Brocton, N.Y., and one brother, David Hazelton of Portland,
N.Y., and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers, Almon and Clifford Hazelton, and one
sister, Virginia Rutkowski.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. from the
Morse Funeral Home, Brocton, N.Y. The Rev. Sandy Ball of the Fellowship Church
of Brocton will officiate. Interment will be held at the convenience of the
family.
