Uber, Edward A.

  Edward A. Uber, 62, of 6 Shirley Lane, Jamestown, 
died Friday (Aug, 24, 2012), in WCA Hospital.
  He was born March 15, 1950, in St. Mary's, Pa., 
the son of James O. "Pete" and Anna F. Allen Uber.
  Ed attended Jamestown Schools, and served from 1969 
until 1971 in the U.S. Army. He worked at the former 
Falconer Plate Glass Co. from 1972 until the plant closed.
  Surviving besides his mother is his wife, Elsie Huddleson Uber of Jamestown; six 
children: Kristy A. Uber (Wes) Pickard of Jamestown, Robert (Jolan) Uber of Florida, 
Mary (Tom) Davis and Tina Uber, both of Jamestown, Scott (Tammy) Huddleson of Randolph 
and Greg Huddleson of Celoron; nine grandchildren: Brandon, Alyssa, Sara, Erika, 
Patrick, Tyler, Gregory, Jordyn and Zachary; two sisters: Cindy Odom and Penny Uber, 
both of Florida; a brother, David Uber of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
  He was preceded in death by his father on Feb. 5, 2011; and a brother, Robert W. 
Uber on Aug. 14, 2012.
  The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral 
Home. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Umsted, Robert W.
  Robert W. Umsted passed away Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at his residence with his 
family with him.
He was born in Union City, Pa., on Feb. 3, 1931, to James W. and Mildred I. Lewis Umstead.
  He attended different schools around Pennsylvania, and quit at 13 years old to 
go to work in the logging camps in Pennyslvania. He later received his GED when 
he was 47.
  He was a U.S. Army veterans during the Korean War and served in the ski patrol 
in Austria.
  He married Roberta Root Connor on May 12, 1973. He had four stepchildren: 
Raymond (Elaine) Conner of Eden, Carol L. (Phil) Conner May of Randolph, 
Cynthia Conner Green of Perrysburg, and Mary Conner of Perrysburg; There 
are eight grandchildren, seven boys and one girl: Robert (Amy) Green of 
Fort Carson, Colo., Edward (Kareena) Green of East Randolph, Kelly Conner of 
Randolph, Trent Conner of Louisville, Ky., Tylor (Rachelle) Conner of 
Perrysburg, Tony (Rhiannon) Green of Conewango Valley, and Joshua and Samantha 
Conner of Eden. There are 10 great-grandchildren. Also, an aunt and uncle, and 
several nieces, nephews and cousins.
  He is predeceased by his parents; a brother, Harold Umstead; and two sisters: 
Frances Brown and Ruth Lindstrom.
  Robert worked at various jobs, Sterlingworth in Jamestown and Western New 
York DDSO.
Robert was a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints.
