Olin, Betty Zogrephos 
  Betty Zogrephos Olin, 81, died Saturday, May 26, 2012, 
in the Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
 She is survived by her children, John, Chris, and 
Betty; and her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
 A private service will be held at the convenience of 
the family.

Oliva, Liboria "Betty" 
Liboria "Betty" Oliva, 95, born April 11, 1917, died May 21, 2012.
 Betty was born in Harlem, N.Y. She married Orfeo "Al" Oliva in 1941.
  While living in New York City, she worked in the millinary department of Bloomstein's 
Department Store in Harlem, N.Y. Betty and Al later moved out to Hicksville, L.I., 
where she was a homemaker. She later worked for Ronzoni Foods until her retirement.
 Betty and Al moved to Lakewood, N.Y., in 1998 to live in a small house near her 
daughters. Al passed away in 2000 and Betty continued to be active until recently.
 Betty enjoyed hand sewing, walking, growing plants and shopping with her daughter. She 
loved when friends and relatives came to visit, especially her niece, JoAnne and 
Dennis Kelty, her sister-in-law, Lucy Portera, and her friends: Linda Russo and 
companion, Anthony. She, most of all, enjoyed being a mother, and there were many 
people who loved her.
 Betty was preceded in death by her father, Sebastian Portera and mother, Francesca 
Portera; her brother, James; sister, Mary; and her husband, Al.
 She is survived by her son, Michael Oliva and daughter-in-law, Patricia; her daughter, 
Francine Feldman and son-in-law, Howard Feldman; her grandchildren: Michael Oliva Jr., 
Nicholas Oliva and wife, Diana, Gregory Oliva, Christine Oliva, Charles Feldman, 
Elizabeth Feldman Borgovan and husband, Theo Borgovan; and her great-grandson, Jacob 
Oliva.
  The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012, in 
the Lind Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday.
 Burial will follow in Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Olson, Ellen B. 
  Ellen B. Olson, 86, formerly of The High Rise, 303 West Fifth St., Jamestown, passed 
away peacefully Saturday Nov. 26, 2011 surrounded by her loving family in the 
Heritage Village Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility.
  She was born Feb. 27, 1925, in Forestville, N.Y., the daughter of the late Henry and 
Hazel Bennett Bernett.
  Ellen was a graduate of Forestville High School and worked at Fenton Park and King 
Manor Nursing Homes, and the Village Inn in Celoron. She was a member of Gloria Dei 
Lutheran Church in Lakewood. For many years, she was a child-care provider and 
foster mother to several young people. She was always willing to help troubled kids, 
her door was always open, no questions asked.
  Ellen enjoyed flower gardening, birds, and baking, especially cookies. She 
was known as "Grandma Cookie" or "Papa Grandma.'' She was an avid bowler, 
enjoying Wii bowling in later years. When someone got sick, they called Ellen 
for one of her home remedies that always seemed to work.
Surviving are six children: Meredith (Gary) Holcomb of Warren, Pa., William 
(Pam) Cordosi of Lakewood, Jody Swanson, Todd Cordosi, Sharon (William) Arthurs, 
all of Jamestown, and Dawn (Harold) Whitford of Frewsburg; 19 grandchildren; 
17 great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Edith Hills, Dorothy Smith, both 
of Arizona, and Iva McLenathan of Silver Creek.
  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the love of her 
life, Richard Olson who died Oct. 17, 2005; a daughter, Vickie Cordosi on Feb. 
12, 1999; a grandson, Kurt Cordosi on May 30, 1992; a great-granddaughter, Mia 
Hope Cordosi on June 2, 2010; two sisters, Jean Mosier and Myrtle Vitale; and 
two brothers, Raymond and Leonard Bernett.
  The funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Lind Funeral 
Home. The Rev. Timothy J. Hoyer, pastor of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, will 
officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Ashville.
  The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.

Olson, Mary Ellen
  Mary Ellen Olson, 82, of 23 W. Third St., died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, in WCA 
Hospital.
  She was born Feb. 15, 1929, in East Liverpool, Ohio, a daughter of the late 
Willard and Helen Wheat Thomas Jr.
  She was a 1947 graduate of Jamestown High School, and had been employed by 
WCA Hospital for 20 years in the central services department.
  Her memberships include Vikings Lodge and the former Westminster Presbyterian 
Church and its choir. She was also a volunteer at the soup kitchen.
  She enjoyed traveling to warm sunny destinations and spending time at the beach. 
She especially loved her grandchildren, time spent at restaurants with "The Gang" 
and playing tennis and golf.
  Surviving are four children: Robert (Sandi) Olson and Debbie (Mike) Soderberg, 
both of Jamestown, Sandy (Brian) Struble of Divide, Colo., and Kitty Olson of 
Boulder City Nev.; 10 grandchildren: Jennifer, Joshua and Jacob Olson, Christopher 
and Erin Neid, Ryan Soderberg and Jesse, Jeremiah, Mallory and Travis Struble; 
two great-grandchildren: Dylan Neid and Gavin Ford; and a sister, Virginia (Robert) 
Lind of Jamestown.
  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Daniel A. 
Olson; and former fiance, Marshall Johnson.
  A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Lind Funeral Home. The 
Rev. Jon Meyer will officiate.
  Inurnment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
 Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Sunday in the funeral home.

Orlando, Mary C.
  Mary C. Orlando, 88, formerly of Jamestown, died Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011, in Heritage 
Green Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
  She was born Jan. 3, 1923, in Corry, Pa., a daughter of Elmer and Mable Deming Bigelow.
 She was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving from 1943 to 1945. She was 
employed by The Post-Journal in the mailroom.
  She was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church and the Eagles Club.
 Surviving are three children: Steven Kiendl of Ellington, Timothy (Jackie) Kiendl of 
Phoenix, Ariz., and Cynthia Henry of Jamestown; five grandchildren: Michael, Aaron and 
David Kiendl and Matthew and Michelle Harrison; several great-grandchildren; a sister, 
Betty Houghwot of Jamestown; and best friend, Gloria Johnson of Jamestown.
  Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Orlando, who 
died May 5, 1982; six brothers: Benjamin, Charles, Buster, Burton, Francis and John 
David Bigelow; and two sisters: Ruth Farren and Florence Mawhir.
  No funeral service or visitation will be held.
 Inurnment will be in Soldier's Circle of Lake View Cemetery.

Ornce, Wilma A. 
  Wilma A. Ornce, 101, formerly of 305 E. Elmwood Ave. and the Methodist Gardens, 
Falconer passed away Saturday (Nov. 26, 2011) in the Lutheran Home and Rehabilitation 
Center.
  She was born Jan. 30, 1910, in Cleveland, N.D., the daughter of the late Ferdnand 
and Gladys White Stearns.
Wilma enjoyed dancing, gardening and cooking.
  Surviving are two sons: Ellis (Violet) Davison of Falconer and James (Jackie) 
Hopkins of Bemus Point; and a stepdaughter, Carol (Gordon) Wayne of McCormick, 
S.C.; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 12 
great-great-grandchildren.
 She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ellis Davison in 1927; her second 
husband, John Hopkins; and her third husband, Henry Ornce; a daughter, Bernice 
Stone, who died Feb. 27, 2011; a great-grandson, Christopher Rollinger; an infant 
great-great-grandson, Peyton Hopkins; three brothers: Eugene, Sanford and Ralph 
Stearns; and three sisters: Julia Trammer, Faye Hare and Arlene Barrus.
  The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev. Dayle 
Keefer of Fluvanna Community Church will officiate. Burial will be in Kennedy 
Riverside Cemetery.
  Friends will be received by the family one hour prior to the funeral service.
 Memorials may be donated to the Fluvanna Community Church.

Osborne, Edith Eimers 
  Edith Eimers Osborne, 85, of North East, formerly of Ripley, died Tuesday Nov. 
22, 2011, at her residence.
  She was born May 23, 1926, in Ripley to the late Charles and Ethel Birch Eimers.
  Edith was a graduate of Ripley High School, and was the owner and operator 
of the Village Boutique Beauty Salon in Ripley for 30 years.
  She loved knitting, crocheting, birds and gardening.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Lafayette ''Fay'' Osborne; son, D. Gary 
Osborne; brothers: Chuck, Robert, Hank, Jake and Jim Eimers; sisters: Cecil O. 
Wojtowicz, Laura Meads and Midge Patton.
  She is survived by her daughters: Joanne Conklin and husband, Tim of Ripley, and 
Cynthia Du Planti and husband, Kevin of North East; brother, Todd Eimers formerly 
of Ripley; sisters: Marie Perkins of Ripley, Lois Paulson formerly of Sherman, 
and Morey Eimers of Washington State. Also survived by four grandchildren; three 
step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six step great-grandchildren; two 
great-great-grandsons; and one step great-great-grand-daughter.
  A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the 
family. Private Interment at Quincy Cemetery.

Overbagh, Adina L.
  Adina L. Overbagh, 95, formerly of Sherman, N.Y., passed away Tuesday, (Nov. 
29, 2011) in Fredericksburg, Va., here she had resided in recent years.
She was born March 10, 1916, in New York City to the late John and Lena Orman 
Laur. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Overbagh, and her 
brother, Valentine Laur.
  She is survived by two children: son, Malcolm Overbagh of Findley Lake, N.Y., 
and daughter, Harriet Castro of Ruther Glen, Va.; five grandchildren: Mark 
Overbagh, Colorado Springs, Colo., John Overbagh, Washougal, Wash., Kurt Overbagh, 
Spring Grove, Ill., Ted Castro, Acton, Mass., and Nora Aftel, Fredericksburg, 
Va.; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held in Sherman in the summer of 2012.
