Tarr, Betty M.
Betty M. Tarr, 88, Route 957, Russell, Pa., passed
away June 3, 2012, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie,
Pa., following complications from a stroke suffered on
May 11.
Betty was born Sept. 2, 1923, in Russell, Pa., the
daughter of the late Howard and Agnes Mason.
Betty lived in Erie, Pa., during her school years,
graduating from East High School in 1941. She danced in
Erie and Buffalo before and during World War II. She married Joseph A.
Tarr Jr. on Oct. 17, 1945, and moved from Erie back to Russell in 1956.
She was a member of the Russell United Methodist Church, where she was baptized in
1924. In recent years she was a member of the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. Her life was
filled with a variety of ac-tivities including the Russell Volunteer Fire Department
Auxiliary, the Well Baby Clinic, and was a Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader. She was
a longtime member of the Circle Eight Square Dance Club and with her husband taught
Western Round Dancing and Ballroom dancing in Pennsylvania, New York and Canada.
Betty was an excellent seamstress and many extended family members can recall her
generous gifts. She enjoyed many hobbies such as bowling, fishing, and especially golf.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Joseph A. Tarr Jr.; son, Patrick H. Tarr
and his wife, Susan, Arlington, Va., and their children: Aaron Tarr and his wife,
Rachel, Annandale, Va., and Allison Tarr, Denham, Mass; her daughter, Debbie Darigan
and her husband, Bob, Charleston, R.I., and their daughter, Amber, Connecticut; two
nieces: Diana Brady, Erie, Pa., and Sandra Hedges, Wesleyville, Pa.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donna Mae Swenson.
Betty will be sadly missed by her family and all who knew her. The family wishes to
make special acknowledgement to the love and support of Jackie Tarr and Katie.
Friends will be received at the Peterson - Blick Funeral Home Inc., 1003 Penn Ave.,
E., Warren, on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be
held at the Russell United Methodist Church, Main Street, Russell, Pa., on Thursday,
June 7, 2012, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Allan Jones, pastor, Cable Hollow Community Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Pine Grove Cemetery.

FORESTVILLE - Alvin A. Tatchell, 74, of South Dayton/Silver Creek Road, Forestville,
died Wednesday, April 25, 2012, at Heritage Village Skilled Nursing Facility, Gerry.
He was born in the town of Dayton, on Jan. 11, 1938, the son of the late Allen and
Mary (Howard) Tatchell.
Mr. Tatchell was a graduate of the former Pine Valley High School class of 1955, and
worked for the former Muench Tanning Factory in Gowanda for 30 years, retiring in
1985. At one time owned and operated the former Forest Lanes Bowling Alley in
Forestville, and also worked as a custom picture framer for both the former Gazebo
in Fredonia and from 1999 to 2003 and he worked for The Paper Factory.
Mr. Tatchell enjoyed bowling where he was a junior bowling instructor for many
years, fishing, camping and woodworking, which included making many wooden lawn
ornaments.
Survivors include three daughters: Tane (Rod) Rogers and Teri (Keith) Fish, both
of Forestville, and Toni Kelley of Silver Creek; two stepsons: Michael (Amy) Johnson
and Jason Johnson, both of Forestville; two sisters: Donna Brittain of Kentucky,
and Barbara Dorman of Jamestown; and a brother, Doug (Linda) Tatchell, of
Forestville. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and
several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Marleah Johnson, who died
April 14, 2011.

Empire Road, Forestville this Saturday, April 28, 2012, from 2 to 6 pm.

Terranova, Margaret Parasiliti
Margaret Parasiliti Terranova, 92, of North Port, Fla., formerly a lifelong resident
of Jamestown, died Monday (Jan. 9, 2012), in North Port.
She was born in Jamestown on May 21, 1919, the daughter of Anthony and Concetta Leto
Parasiliti.
She was a 1937 graduate of Jamestown High School, and was a communicant of St. James
Catholic Church, a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and was very active with the
annual St. Joseph Table.
Margaret was a member of the Allen Park Women's Club, a former member of the Gaeta
Club and the Morco Polo Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at WCA Hospital for 40 years.
She is survived by her children: Rita Kaye, Venice, Fla., and Dennis (Christine)
Terranova, Melbourne, Fla.; five grandchildren: Mary (Julian) Dwyer, Lauderhill, Fla.,
Susan (Michael) Kilbourne, Columbus, Ohio, Anne Karapontso, New Albany, Ohio., and
Nicholas and Timothy Terranova, Melbourne, Fla., three great-granddaughters: Abagail
Dwyer, Lauderhill, Fla., Kara and Alison Kilbourne, Columbus, Ohio; and a brother,
Anthony (Florence) Parasiliti, Irving, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Terranova, whom she married June 12,
1943, in St. James Catholic Church, and who died Oct. 31, 2000; five brothers: Robert,
Fred, Joseph, Anthony and Carl Parasiliti; and a sister, Anne Spera.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Saturday in St. James
Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.
Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
Friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home
And Cremation Services.
An Altar & Rosary Society Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. and a Christian Wake

Terry, Brenda G.
Brenda Gail Terry, 49, of 211 Price St., passed away unexpectedly at 9:09 p.m. Monday
(Jan. 2, 2012), in her home.
A lifelong area resident, she was born Sept. 19, 1962, in Jamestown, N.Y., a daughter
of George G. and Ethel V. Abrams Gustafson.
Brenda was a 1980 graduate of Jamestown High School, and had been a member of the
Kidder Memorial United Methodist Church.
She had previously been employed as a program assistant for WCA Hospital and by
John David Hair Salon, where she will be remembered as a gentle and good natured friend.
Brenda was a meek and generous person with a touch of her father's sense of humor. She
spent her life making people comfortable in whatever way she could. She was a wonderful
homemaker and made a home wherever she was and her friends were part of her family. She
enjoyed the simple things in life and was a child at heart.
Surviving are her mother of Jamestown; a daughter, Kristen Terry and a son, Nicholas
Terry (fiance Amie Rykaczewski), both of Jamestown: a brother, G. Jeffrey (April) Gustafson
of Lakewood; a sister, Rebecca Whitman (fiance Wayne Whitman) of Jamestown; her niece
and nephews: Hunter and Erika Gustafson and Brett Caden Scarem; as well as several
aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father who died July 3, 2009; and her paternal
grandparents, Harry and Irene Gustafson.
The funeral will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Ned
Lindstrom will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery.

Thomas, Christine M. Stankevich
Christine M. Stankevich Thomas, 85, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, due to a short illness
at Brunswick Memorial Hospital in North Carolina, where she had been residing with her
beloved daughter.
She was born Aug. 1, 1926, in Scranton, Pa., the much-loved daughter of the late
Frank and Elizabeth (Motsavage) Stankevich, Sr.
Christine married Kenneth Thomas Sr. in Little Rock, Ark., on Aug. 1, 1944, and
they spent many happy years after World War II raising their family together in
Newark, N.J., before transferring to Jamestown, N.Y., after their children were
grown. Christine took great pride in being an excellent homemaker and cook. Her favorite
pastime was playing bingo.
Besides her parents, Christine was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn
Stankevich Dely; her brother, Frank Stankevich Jr.; and her husband, Kenneth
Thomas Sr. to whom she was married for over 60 years.
Christine is survived by her three much-loved children: Kenneth (Suejayne)
Thomas Jr. of Bedford, Va., Carol (James) Bowers of Supply, N.C., and Dennis
(Tanya) Thomas Sr. of Sinclairville, N.Y.; and seven grandchildren: Lisa
Bowers, Ryan (Christine) Bowers, Bill (Laura) Thomas, Stacy (Mark) Thomas
Smith, Anne (Christopher) Thomas, Dennis Thomas Jr., and Sarah Thomas.
Christine also had five great-grandchildren: Saoirse, Cian, Cailiosa,
and Laoise Thomas and Greyson Smith.

Tompkins, Robert N.

FREWSBURG - Robert N. Tompkins, 70, of 41 Frew Run Road, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012,
at WCA Hospital.
He was born April 30, 1942, in Houtzdale, Pa., the son of Robert and Roberta Covey
Tompkins.
Before retiring, he had been employed at the former Blackstone Corp., as well as
numerous area shops as a tool and die maker.
Bob was a member of the Son's of the Legion at the Samuel Derby Post 556 American
Legion, Frewsburg, Carroll Rod Gun and the NRA.
He enjoyed karaoke, cooking and hunting.
Bob was survived by his wife, Diane Frankson Tompkins; five children: Mark (Anke)
Tompkins, Christopher Tompkins, Deborah (Mark) Walsh, Colleen (Jon) Holsinger of
Frewsburg, Erin (Christopher) Wheeler of Kiantone; two grandchildren: Jared and
Samantha Walsh; and a brother Lawrence Tompkins Sr. of Frewsburg.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Allen Tompkins; and a granddaughter,
Callie Joy Wheeler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of
Victory Church, Frewsburg by the Rev. Darrell Duffy, pastor of St. James, Our Lady
of Victory oratory.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg.
The family will receive friends today from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Peterson Funeral

Thompson, Charles F. Jr.
Charles F. Thompson Jr. 85, of Scott Hill Road, Kennedy, passed away Sunday
(Dec, 4,2011), in Golden Living Center-Kinzua, Warren, Pa.
He was born Feb. 14, 1926, in Baltimore, Md., the son of the late Charles F.
Thompson Sr. and Emma Pugh Thompson.
Charles was a graduate of Howard County High School in Maryland, and the
University of Maryland with a bachelor's degree in education. He was a veteran
of the U.S Army serving during the Korean War in Germany.
He was employed by the Bowie Senior High School, Bowie, Md., as a biology teacher,
retiring in 1987. Charles was a member of the Maryland Teachers Association and Christ
First United Methodist Church, Jamestown. He was a former member of the Falconer Ro-
tary Club.
Charles enjoyed reading, traveling and watching Western movies.
Surviving are his son, Lewis B. C. Thompson and his wife, Marjorie, of Kennedy; a
brother, Joseph Thompson and his wife, Nancy, of Wellington, Del.; a sister, Elizabeth
Legler and her husband, Dr. Glenn Legler, of Bethesda, Md.; and several nieces and
nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret L. Remington Cullen Thompson, whom he
married July 15, 1961, in Tacoma Park, Md., and who died Aug. 17, 2010.
A memorial service will be held with family at a later date in Washington, D.C.
Inurnment will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Kennedy, N.Y.

Titus, Dorothy M.
Dorothy M. Titus, 83, previously of Cassadaga, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011, at the
Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk.
The daughter of the late Isabele (Baily) McBride and Charles McBride, of Lily Dale,
she was born July 15, 1928, in Stockton.
A lifelong resident of the Cassadaga area, she retired from Truck Lite in Falconer
in 1994. She was also employed for many years at the Halfway Diner and at AVM,
Sinclairville Diner and Cassadaga Diner.
She enjoyed playing bingo and spending time with her family.
Survivors include her son Steven Titus of Cassa-daga, daughter Roxanne (William)
Astry, of Cassadaga, brother Charles McBride of Kissimee, Fla., sister Joan Smith of
Lily Dale, grandchildren Samantha (Haegen) Boardman, of Kimball Stand, Sandy (Joe)
Biggers of Cassadaga, Andrew (Michele) Astry of Tucson, Ariz., Alexandra (Matthew)
Williams of Hamlin, seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son Craig Titus, of Jamestown,
twin brother Ralph McBride of San Antonio, sister Vivian Stacio of Tonawanda and
brother Don McBride.
A private graveside ceremony will be held at the convenience of her family.

Alan P. Tornstrom, 64, of 1442 Peck Settlement Road Jamestown, died Saturday Aug. 25,
2012 in his home.
He was born March 13, 1948, in Jamestown, the son of the late Jean T. Tornstrom.
Alan was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving from 1967 until 1971. He had been
employed at the former AVM Corp., and Anderson's Farm. He enjoyed riding motorcycles
and was an avid collector.
Surviving are his son, Alan of Puerto Rico; daughter, Mary Lynn of Charlotte, N.C.;
four grandchildren; and an uncle, Burton Tornstrom of Fairport, N.Y.
He was preceded in death by his mother on June 9, 2010; and his grandparents, Carl
and Bertha Tornstrom.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday Sept. 1, 2012, in the Lind Funeral
Home. The Rev. Daniel S. Rumfelt will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the
funeral home.

Rose E. (Suriani) Tomassi died Oct. 18, 2011.

Town, Ivan L.
Ivan Town passed away Dec. 28, 2011, following a struggle with leukemia. He was born
Oct. 19, 1937, in Clarks Corners, N.Y., to Bertha and Leon Town. He is survived by his
brother Lester (June); his sisters: Beatrice Rakestraw and Elaine Savaree; and his
nieces, nephews and their children.
Ivan graduated from Falconer High School and completed his undergraduate and graduate
studies at Rochester Institute of Technology and Penn State. He taught in the food
science departments at Penn State, University of Illinois, Iowa State, Oklahoma
State and returned to finish his academic career at Rochester Institute of Technology.
After retiring, Ivan spent 17 years as the manager of the Century Club in Rochester. In
the last several years, he was a reading tutor in the Rochester elementary schools and
worked as a volunteer at his church.
Ivan made devoted and wonderful friends wherever he went. Ivan's family would like
to thank those friends and staff at Rochester General Hospital for their kind and
gentle care of Ivan in the last months of his life.
A memorial service is being planned. Donations in Ivan's memory may be made to the
Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra or Rochester Third Presbyterian Church, both of which were an important part of Ivan's life.
Town, Violet G.
DUNKIRK - Violet G. Town, 87, a resident of the Chautauqua County Home, Dunkirk,
formerly of Forestville, died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Weedville, Pa., on Aug. 4, 1924, the daughter of the late George
and Beatrice (Champion) Kear.
Mrs. Town was a graduate of the former Weedville High School, class of 1942, and
worked as a sales clerk for the former Ludeman's Department Store, Silver Creek.
She was a member of the Forestville United Methodist Church since 1946, where she
was a former Sunday school teacher. She also was a member and officer of the J.
Carter Knapp American Legion Post 953, Ladies Auxiliary, Forestville, and served
as past president of the Chautauqua County American Legion Auxiliary. She was
also a past member and past noble grand of the former Grapevine Rebekah Lodge,
Forestville.
Violet was a devoted wife, mother and grandma who enjoyed traveling, sewing and
crafts.
Survivors include her loving husband of 65 years, Earl G. Town of Dunkirk, whom
she married in Weedville, Pa., on June 1, 1946; two sons: Carter (Mary Ann) Town
of Dunkirk, and Dr. Donald (Nancy Bergstrom) Town of El Segundo, Calif.; a daughter,
Debra (Roy) Seyferth, of Warrenton, Va.; three brothers: Herbert (Peg) Kear of Astor,
Fla., and Arthur (Arbutus) Kear and Vernon (Jan) Kear, both of Weedville, Pa.; and two
sisters: Martha Kear and Connie (Burton) Kunes, both of Weedville, Pa. Also surviving
are two grandchildren: Amy (Michael) Dyczewski of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Shawn Town
of Jacksonville, Fla.; three great-grandchildren: Genevieve Morales, Chloe and
Lia Dyczewski; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers: George Kear,
Fred Kear and Barry Kear; and by a sister, Priscilla Scusa.
There will be no visitation observed. A memorial service will be held Saturday
morning at 11 a.m. from the Forestville United Methodist Church, 3 Park St.,
Forestville, with the Rev. James D. Hankey, officiating. Interment will be at
the convenience of the family in Forestville Cemetery.

Tracy, Wanda H.
Wanda H. Tracy, 91, of Ellenton, Fla,, formerly of Falconer, passed away Sunday
(June 10, 2012), in the Tidewell Hospice House, Ellenton, Fla.
She was born April 8, 1921, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Gilbert C.
and Pearl Klock Hine.
Wanda attended Falconer High School, and during World War II was employed by MRC. She
along with her husband owned and operated Tracy's Perennials Farm in Drybrook from 1961
to 1974, and she was also employed by Falconer Central School from 1975 to 1983.
She was a member of the Henry Mosher Post 638 American Legion Auxiliary for more
than 60 years, the Falconer Fire Department Auxiliary and in earlier years was a
member of the Falconer PTA. Wanda enjoyed her Friday afternoon card club that met
for many years. She also enjoyed her flowers and plants, knitting hats, mittens
and newborn hats for newly born babies. She was also known as the "Bread Lady"
in Falconer having baked various kinds of breads.
Surviving are her son James L. Tracy and his wife, Lorraine, of Ellenton, Fla.;
her niece, Jerrie Gilbert of Falconer; her nephew, Thomas Scarbarough of Falconer;
two great nieces: Kara Peterson of Jamestown, and Kristine Samuelson of Falconer;
six great-great-nephews: Tony and Nick Migliore, Andrew Sweet, John, Bobby and
Brett Samuelson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, H. Winton Tracy, whom she married Aug. 6,
1938, in Falconer, and who died Nov. 9, 1982; two sisters: Iva Lee Scarborough
and Genevieve Peterson.
The funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in the Falconer Funeral Home. The Rev.
Dan Rumfelt will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Falconer.
Friends will be received by the family from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

Trautman, Patricia L.
Patricia L. Trautman, 61, of Bemus Point, N.Y., passed away Saturday, Dec. 3,
2011, at Westfield Memorial Hospital, Westfield, N.Y.
She was born on Nov. 15, 1950, in Olean, N.Y., the daughter of Eugene and Ruth
(Bradt) Kutchmyre.
Patricia is survived by her daughter; Tammy (Jerry) Fardink; grandchildren;
Michael and Brooke Morton, Hanna Fardink, and Jason Jr., Damien and Cameron
Trautman; sisters, Holli (Fred) Adams and Shelly (Bruce) Stevens; parents, Ruth
and Gene Kutchmyre; and by four nieces and their children.
No visitation or services will be observed.

Triscari, Carmelo
Carmelo Triscari, 80, of 226 Barrows St., Jamestown, died Wednesday (Nov. 29,
2011), in the WCA Hospital.
He was born in Tortorici, Sicily, on Oct. 27, 1931, the son of Salvatore and
Angela Iuculano Triscari, and has been a resident of Jamestown since 1959.
Carl was the owner and operator of Triscari's Tailor Shop for 50 years from
1959 to 2009. Prior to coming to Jamestown, he attended Tailor School in
Palermo, Sicily.
He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, a member of the Marco Polo
Club, Italian American Club and a former member of the Lakewood Rod & Gun Club.
He is survived by his wife, Antonina Bevacqua Triscari, whom he married April
25, 1959, in St. James Catholic Church; four sons: Salvatore Triscari, Jamestown,
N.Y., Antonino "Tony" (Wendy) Triscari, Greenwich, Conn., Sebastian "Busty" (Sara)
Triscari, Centerport, N.Y., and Carmelo "Carl" (Linda) Triscari, Manhattan, N.Y.;
six grandchildren: Tyler and Andrew Triscari, Greenwich, Conn., Melissa and Carl

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. James
Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Burial
will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home
And Cremation Services, where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 3 p.m.

Tuller, Betty (Fisk)
Betty (Fisk) Tuller, 80, of Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing, passed away
peacefully at 10:42 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, surrounded by her loving family.
Betty was born Feb. 19, 1931, in Leon, N.Y., the daughter of Alan and Jennie
(Snyder) Fisk. She married Linford Tuller on Oct. 4, 1957. He preceded her
in death in May 1997.
Throughout her life, she worked as a waitress, seamstress and homemaker. She and
Linford were foster parents to many children for a number of years. Betty was a
devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her
family. She was creative and generous, and liked to quilt, sew, bake, and
decorate cakes for others.
Betty is also preceded in death by her longtime companion, Claude Hallett;
a brother, Harold Fisk; a step-son, LeRoy Tuller; and two grandsons:
Steve and Michael Tuller.
She is survived by a son, Duane (Diane) Hallett of Busti; a daughter, Yvonne
(Jim) Ribaudo of Falconer; two stepchildren: David (Ruth) Tuller of San Antonio,
Texas, and Julie (Jon) Davis of Busti; 22 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandson; and brother, Bryce (Sandra) Harrington.
Betty gifted her body to the Anatomical Gift Program at the University of
Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
A memorial service for her will be held Sunday, Nov 20, 2011 at 1 p.m.
at the Busti Fire Hall, 886 Mill Road, Jamestown, N.Y. (Busti).
Turner, Malcolm
SHERMAN- Malcolm Turner, 92, of Sherman, died Friday (June 15, 2012) at the home of his
daughter in Bemus Point.
He was born April 7, 1920, in Jamestown, the son of the late Edgar and Cora Johnston
Turner.
Malcolm was a veteran of World war II, having served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific
Theater.
He had been a factory worker for 40 years at Kling's Furniture in Mayville, retiring
in 1986.
Malcolm was a member of the North Harmony United Methodist Church, William L.
Travis American Legion in Mayville, and the Lake Chautauqua Memorial Post VFW in
Mayville.
He is survived by a son Donald Turner and his wife Minda of Las Vegas, Nev.; a
daughter, Nancy Turner March and her husband Wesley of Bemus Point; one grandson,
Bryce March and his wife Jennifer Barczak of Buffalo; one granddaughter, Megan
March, one great granddaughter, Maddison March of Jamestown; one sister, Geneva
Green and her husband Roger of Orange City, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Davis Turner, whom he married Sept. 7,
1946, in Dewittville, and who died Nov. 15, 2005; and by one brother, Maurice Turner.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in
the North Harmony Cemetery.

Truver, John P.
John P. Truver, 36, of 337 Crossman St., Jamestown, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2011,
in WCA Hospital.
He was born Jan. 29, 1975, in Jamestown, the son of Scott and Nancy Briggs Truver.
He was a graduate of Southwestern Central School, and had been employed by
Bob Evans Restaurant as a cook.
Surviving besides his father of Jamestown are five children: Courtney, Megan,
Amber, Alexis and Havanna Truver, all of Jamestown; three sisters: Dawn
Bechmann of Buffalo, Jennifer Truver of Ashville, and Stacey Truver of Bemus
Point; grandmother Aggie Briggs of Chautauqua; and his companion, Liz Marlette.
He was preceded in death by his mother; and a nephew, Bradley Stanton.
The funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Lind Funeral Home. Msgr.
Joseph M. Dowdell will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service in the funeral home.

Tyes, Paul
Paul Tyes, 70, of 144 Park St., died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, in his home.
A Jamestown resident the last three years, he was born Dec. 21, 1940, in
Corinth, Miss., to Johnnie Tyes and Rosie Lee Richey. Upon the sudden death
of his mother, he moved to Cleveland, Ohio, and was raised by his father
and stepmother, Magnolia Tyes.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a retired coal miner with Beth Energy
Corp. in Marianna, Pa.
Paul is survived by his five children: Paul Tyes II, Yonkers, N.Y., Monique
Tyes, Upper Marlboro, Md., Vicky Tyes-Davis, Cleve-land, Ohio, James Bernard
Tyes, Cleveland, Ohio, and Charles M. Brown, Bronx, N.Y.; seven grandchildren;
Caleb and Sarai Tyes, Reuben, Rae-Shawn, James and La-Dale Davis and Dominique
Tyes; seven siblings: Evone Tyes, Flint, Mich., Betty Jean Stacey. Flint, Mich.,
Darlene Brent, Cleveland, Ohio, Ruby Day, Memphis, Tenn., Marjorie Price,
Cleveland, Ohio, William Tyes, Baldwyn, Miss., Wayne Tyes, Baldwyn, Miss.,
and Johnny Harper, Cleveland, Ohio; and his former wives, Ilene Morris Tyes
and Odell Tyes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Derrick Scott Tyes; two brothers
Charles and Adrian Tyes; and his sister, Catherine Coleman.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, in the
Lind Funeral Home.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the service Saturday in the
funeral home.
